This is a story told to me many years ago and until today it still stuck in my head.

His aunt lived in a neighborhood that was built over a very old cemetery and was known by locals as the "ghost neighborhood".

It was believed that it was common for strange paranormal things to happen there. One night she goes to sleep with her husband. She had been sleeping for some hours until she awoke with a feeling of terror. She heard some voices.

Suddenly she sees two shadows at the corner of the room. But she soon realized that she could not speak or even move. The shadows started to approach her and the only thing she could do was watch. At this point she has one of the shadow figures on one side of her and the other at the other side of her.

Soon one of the dark figures started to choke her and as she feels out of breath, she started to panic. That's when the other figure said something that haunts me until today, it said ''She wasn't supposed to be awake''. After that the two figures disappear for some reason and she soon can move and speak again.

She wakes up her husband crying hysterically, telling him what happened. He comforts her telling her it was just a dream. She swears that happened for real.

One day I came across an article about sleep paralysis and I can't help to wonder, if maybe something like that happened to her...

Remember this happened many years ago so this was back when sleep paralysis wasn't so ''famous'' it was just a creepy story at the time... Somehow realizing this can happen to anybody at anytime, makes it so much more creepy for me.
