Technology is a wondrous thing. The age of information and connection. Endless knowledge at the click of a button, the ability to speak with people all over the world from the comfort of your favorite armchair. Photography has evolved from tedious development to instantaneous sharing around the globe. Yes, the internet was an amazing gift for mankind, but it was also a curse.
Killers, spies, rapists: the worst of the worst. They all had so much more information at their disposal. Social networks, photos, addresses. Click, click, click.
This was their way in. Videos, photographs, movies: anything which could hold their form. Have you ever looked at a photo and seen something that wasn't there? Or something slightly out of place from where you recall? No? How about someone looking directly into the camera who you swear is looking straight at you?
That's them. People that take notice have lost. It is only a matter of time. Once you notice them they will get you. You will begin to see them everywhere. Eventually you will see them out of your own eyes. The flicker in the corner of your vision, the malicious reflection in your mirror, that passer-by who looks at you for just a second too long.
Some people won't be able to take it. Suicides and mental cases appear from out of the blue. Others who try to fight are taken, missing off the face of the Earth.
They are watching you, right now, from that poster on your wall, the picture on your desk. It's okay to enjoy these things. Just don't look too closely.
