The drive to the gate, which was closed, was beautifully lined with trees and flowers of all colors. We pull up to the gate, confused as to what we were going to do. They are closed. It said so on the sign that was hanging on the window of the little cabin.
Park closes one hour before dusk.
It was almost dusk now. The sun would be setting soon.
"I think they are closed," I say, tentatively.
"Hey, being Harry Styles has it's perks," he says, winking at me before stepping out of the car. I watch him walk up to the guy who stepped out of the cabin. They shake hands, the guy smiling at Harry as he speaks. He's only gone a few minutes and Harry walks back to the car and the man goes and unlocks the gate, letting us in.
We pull forward, heading to the open parking lot that sat off to the side of the park. There was no one here. The parking lot was empty, there was no one at the playground, or on the beach. It was beautiful. The sky was just starting to turn a light pink from the setting sun, which reflected off the water of the lake. It was perfect.
"So, we got this place to ourselves?" I ask him as he parks the car.
"Yeah, I know the manager of this place. He said we could be here after it closes, just as long as we are careful." He smiles as he steps out of the car, I follow and get out as well. He is pulling the basket of food and the blankets and pillow out of the car.
"Here, I can take the blankets and pillow," I offer, reaching for them.
"Thank you. Here, follow me, I know the perfect spot," he says, reaching for my free hand with his. I instantly feel that jolt of electricity and a small smile tugs at my lips. I look up at him as he smiles down at me. I wonder if he felt it too.
We walk past the beach a little ways, to a small path that led into the woods. If I was with anyone else, I would have been a little worried. We didn't walk long though before we came to an opening that revealed this private beach overlooking the water.
It was breathtaking. The beach was a small, romantic area, surrounded by trees and flowers. Like a little cove.
"What do you think?" Harry asks, sounding a little nervous.
"It's...perfect," I peer up at him and smile. I couldn't think of a better way to spend time getting to know him. It was so romantic and special.
"I thought you would like it. I'm not big into the typical, dinner and a movie, first date. I'd like to be able to talk and get to know who I'm with. What better place then here, yeah?" He walks along the small beach and sets the basket down. He reaches over and takes the one of the blankets from me and start spreading it out on the sand.
"Perfect timing too. The sun is about to set and I heard the sunset is beautiful here." He tells me, motioning for me to sit down. He was right to, the sun was setting, creating a a purple and orange reflection on the water. I sit there looking out to the water, taking my shoes off and burying me toes in the sand.
"I don't know how I never knew about this place," I said, astonished.
"I've been to the other beach area, but I never knew about this secret cove. Sidney actually told me about it," he explains, kneeling down on the blanket, careful to not get sand on it, and begins taking some food. I notice some plates and grab a couple, along with some napkins.
"She's never mentioned it to me, probably a secret place she only tells her famous friends about," I joke, causing him to laugh.
"Still upset that she didn't tell you she was friends with us?"
