Hazel
I awoke to an empty bed. My stomach dropped, a bunch of thoughts racing through my mind. Was he changing his mind about us? Was last night not enough? Am I not enough?
Why do I always assume the worst? He probably just got up early that's all.
I get up, legs aching from last nights activities. I head to the bathroom and brush my teeth and throw my hair up into a messy bun. I throw on a pair of pajama shorts and a cami.
I look at myself once more in the mirror. Do I look different? I feel different. Happier. Lighter. I know it's been awhile since I have had any sort of intimacy with anyone but that couldn't be the reason why I feel light as a feather.
It was Harry. Being with him was amazing. He was absolutely perfect.
Last night was magical. The passion and need we felt and how our bodies just responded to each other was something you only read about in books. He was so attentive and just everything I longed for. I know now that my need for him will never simmer.
Finally, I head out into the hall and hear Chloe giggling. I smile and follow the sound to her bedroom.
I peak around the corner and see Harry getting Chloe dressed. He's tickling her sides and her feet making her laugh uncontrollably. I stay quiet, neither of them noticing I was there. All earlier thoughts of doubt vanish.
"You silly girl! Does your feet tickle?" He asks, tickling her feet again. Chloe's begins to laugh again which causes Harry to laugh. It took all I had to keep from laughing out loud. It was the cutest thing ever. He finishes putting on her last sock and stands her up.
"There, beautiful as ever. Just like your mommy," he coos, poking her nose. She reaches to him and he leans in and she wraps her little arms around his neck and holds on tight. My heart contracts at the sweet gesture. A simple act as a hug shows the amount of trust she has in Harry.
"I love you and your mommy very much. My life seems to finally be coming together. I got everything I want, a great career that I love, a beautiful woman who loves me and the cutest little girl ever," he pinched her cheek and she giggled.
I couldn't stop myself from laughing that time. Her giggle is just to cute!
Harry's head snaps to the doorway and his smile about knocks me over. A full smile, showing his dimple. His eyes bright and looking at me adoringly. I was the luckiest woman alive.
"How long have you been standing there?" He squints his eyes at me, trying to figure out how long I have been eavesdropping.
"Quite some time actually," I laugh, walking in and giving Chloe a kiss of her cheek. Harry moves his free hand and wraps it around my waist pulling me towards him.
"Good morning, love," he kisses me, a sweet kiss that told me everything I needed to know. That last night was real, that it was perfect and meant as much to him as it did to me. His lips linger a little while longer before he pulls away.
"Good morning," I nuzzled closer to him, wrapping an arm around him.
"I think Sidney is making something to eat, want to head out to the kitchen?" Harry asks.
"Sounds great. I'm starving!" We both laugh and head to the kitchen.
We are greeted by the smell of bacon and the all to knowing eyes of Sidney. She wags her eyebrows at me and I swat her arm.
"Have a good night you two?" She asks knowingly.
"The best," I tell her, winking at Harry.
"I'll be sure to ask for details later. Are you going to the party tonight?" She turns and sets a plate of bacon on the counter. I pour a glass of coffee for myself while Harry grabs the tea from the cupboard.
