I pulled my purple shirt over my seven month old belly getting ready for Carter to pick me up so we could go to my doctor's appointment. I slipped on some sweatpants since it started getting chilly in November. I put on my comfy Nike shoes and walked down the stairs holding my big belly. Only two more months and I would have a little one here. More like, in two more months I will be in teh hospital popping a child out. I shuddered at the thought of the pain. I'm not ready for that. A knock at the door broke my train of thought so I answered it seeing the oh-so handsome, Carter Hinton at my door.
"Well hello beautiful! You come here often?" He asked making me giggle. I loved cheesy pick up lines.
"I actually do come here often. How about you?" I asked, smiling.
"I have lately." He laughed and I moved out of the way so he could walk in.
"Are you hungry? Because I need to eat before I go." I asked walking into the kitchen.
"Are you actually going to cook for me? You NEVER cook!" He got up, excited.
"I was going to cook a frozen pizza..." I laughed. "But if you want me to actually cook, I will."
"Well..." He thought, placing his pointer finger on his chin. "I could go for a bacon sandwich. But I'll help you if you want. I love cooking!" He walked into the kitchen.
I got our turkey bacon out of the refridgerator while Carter got our whole wheat bread out of the cabinet. Carter started cooking the bacon and I watched him, facinated. His muscles clenched everytime he picked up the skillet to shake it a little bit. I actually thought I was drooling, so I wiped my mouth.
"What're you doing?" Carter laughed as he turned around placing the bacon on a plate with paper towels on it. He sat the skillet in the sink.
I immediantly turned bright red. Did he see me staring? He could be talking about something else. What am I kidding... He's definetely talking about me wiping my mouth. I blushed even harder, if that's even possible.
"Hello. Earth to Bear!" He waved his hand in front of my face.
"Oh. Um. Um." Nothing was coming to mind. Think of something, Aubrianna! "Um. What?"
Carter laughed. "Why'd you wipe your mouth?" He paused. "Were you staring at me?" His eyes widened and so did mine.
"No. What? Why wou- yes... Yes I was. Can you blame me?" I got up from my seat and walked over to him. "You're just too cute." I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me capturing him in a passionate kiss. Our mouths were moving in sync and I was pulling him closer to me, needing more. He licked my lower lip and I granted entrance happily. His tongue slid across my teeth then danced with my tongue. Thank goodness my parents were gone this weekend. He picked me up and sat me on the island. He was amazingly strong even with a cast on. I ran my fingers through his soft hair, tugging on it. He wrapped his arms around my big belly, reaching my back. He pulled my top up a little bit and started massaging my back, gaining a small moan from me. Carter started kissing down my neck, making me moan. He started moving closer and closer to my breast. Then he just stopped and walked away from me.
"No. I can't. I can't. It's not right. I'm sorry." Carter said right before he walked out of my house. So he was just going to leave me here? Not happening. I got down from the island and walked outside where I saw Carter sitting on my porch with his legs hanging off the side. The November air hit me, almost taking my breath away. He was resting his elbows on his thighs and had his head bowed into his hands.
"I'm so sorry." He said, not looking up once. "I can't believe I did that. I don't know what took over me. I should leave. I'm sorry." He got down off my porch and started walking to his car. He didn't look at me one time.
"Carter, stop." I said, walking down the stairs. He stopped in his place and I grabbed his left hand, tugging on him. "Please turn around."
"I'm ashamed." His voice broke. This really bothered him. I almost started crying then.
"Please. I won't judge you." He turned around and his face was red from anger. He was mad at himself and I had never seen this side of him. I smiled at him, making him slightly smile. "I see that!" I said referring to his smile, that made him smile even harder.
"Come back inside." I pulled him behind me back into the kitchen. I got out a tomato, lettuce, and mayo. I made us sandwiches and took them into the living room. Mom would kill me if she saw me eating on her couch. Carter and I ate with only the tv breaking the silence. As soon as I finished my sandwich, I leaned in closer to him.
"Hey..." I carressed his cheek. "What's the matter?" I asked.
"You're pregnant, for crying out loud." He whispered. "I'm so selfish, how could I only think of myself?"
"Actually, it's not your fault because I started the kiss..."
"Bear, it's not yourself. Don't blame yourself."
"Then don't blame yourself, Carter." I sat up. "It's okay. I was only thinking of myself too. We didn't get too far so it's oka-"
"I want to wait until marriage." He interrupted.
"For what?" I asked.
"For us to do anything farther than what we just did." He said, looking at me.
"Okay, that's fine. It's up to you." He smiled.
"Thank you." He got up. "Are you ready to go?" He offered me his good hand, helping me get up.
"Yup! Let's go." I put a jacket on and locked the door on my way out. I got in Carter's car and fell asleep until he woke me up telling me we were at the doctor's office. He opened my door for me and held my hand all the way in there. I filled out some papers, the boring usual. Once it was my turn to go to the back, Carter held my hand walking back there. I don't know why but I was really nervous. The nurse showed me my room and I sat on the brown cushioned bench that had a thin piece of paper over it that crinkled everytime you moved.
"Are you ready for this?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" Carter asked.
"You're not going to get grossed out?"
"Not at all." Carter laughed and the doctor walked in.
"Hello, Miss. Parker. How are you today?" He asked, never looking up from his clipboard.
"A little nervouse, to be honest." I admitted.
"How come?" He asked.
"I always fear that something will be wrong with my baby." Carter leaned over and grabbed my hand, giving it a little sqeeze.
"Well, I'm going to go get a nurse to do your ultrasound while I go and check out some other ladies!" He left, closing the door behind him. Carter stood up and stood beside me. I pulled my shirt up to you could see my bare belly. As soon as the nurse popped in, Carter pecked my lips and went to the other side of me so the nurse could get to her computer.
"Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I will be your ultrasound technition, how are you two?" She asked.
"Good." We both said in unison. Which I lied. It was just so much easier to lie and say I was great instead of saying I was nervous then I would have to explain and right now I didn't feel like it.
"Well that's great." She smiled as she put the freezing cold gel on my stomach, pushing it all around. She then put her baby finder remote on my stomach. Or that's what I called it anyways. "Do you know the sex of the baby?"
"No..." I answered.
"Would you like to know?" She asked, smiling at us both again.
I looked up at Carter. "It's your decision, Bear." He said.
"Um... Yes, I want to know!" I said excitedly.
"Okay, well you are expecting a...."
