Tonight I'm having my back to school party but, everyone is coming early just to hang out a little bit more. I still have to finish getting my party ready by making sure there's enough wood for the bonfire, helping my mom make the food, set up the snack tables, and I still have to get ready myself. I don't even know what I'm going to wear. I've thought about my outfit probably more than what we were actually going to do for my party.

I grabbed a couple more logs and put them in the pile of wood. Then I went to help my mom make our food. She decided on vegetables and dressing, fruit, a cheese tray, chicken fingers, tortilla chips, spinach and artichoke dip, milk chocolate fudge, tailgate sandwiches, and she also made me some shrimp and cocktail sauce because I love seafood. My mom helped me set up the snack table and then she set up some chairs around the pile of wood for us.

I went up to my room to get ready and picked out a black tank top with a metallic, gold cross on it, with denim shorts, and black gladiator shoes. I straightened my hair and put  on mascara, eye liner, a light gray eye shadow, a little bit of blush, and clear lip gloss. I walked into the bathroom and switched my glasses out for my contacts.

I grabbed my phone and saw that I had four text messages. I decided to open Coleman's first.

Coleman: I'll be over after I get off of work so that'll be a little after six. Sorry for the late notice.

Bri: It's perfectly fine. See you then.

   Then I opened up Dove's.

Dove: I'm heading to your house now. I picked up Blair, JC, and Treasure. So we'll all be over in about 15 minutes.

Bri: Awesome! I can't wait to see you guys.

I opened up Treasure's text message.

Treasure: I'm riding with Dove, Blair, and JC in Dove's car to your party.

Bri: I know, Dove already texted me telling me that you guys were car pooling.

I decided to open Carter's last.

Carter: Hey, beautiful. I'm in your driveway.

Bear: Okay, just come on in. I'm in my room, my dad is at work so you don't have to worry about him.

After I sent that text I brushed my teeth and went downstairs into the kitchen.

"Carter is here, mom. The girls should be here shortly, Coleman will be here after six, and I haven't heard from Oliver, Jaxson, or Lucas so I suppose that they'll be here soon too." I said to mom and heard a knock on the front door. "Really? He still knocks on the door. He's over here all the time. ." I got up from one of our kitchen chairs and went and opened up the door for Carter.

He grabbed me and pulled me into a bear hug, placing kisses all over my face, skipping my lips. I started squealing and giggling, trying to get out of his arms until he finally kissed my lips. I relaxed more into his arms. He put more pressure on my lips as he dipped me back with one hand on my lower back and the other behind my neck and then brought me back to my feet, letting our lips separate.

"Miss me?" I asked, with a smirk. He intertwined our hands, pulling me into the kitchen.

"A little." He shrugged. We entered the kitchen as the door bell rang. I pulled Carter back into the living room and opened the door, revealing my four best friends. I stepped forward, letting go of Carter's hand, and giving my best friends a big group hug. When I stepped back, I grabbed Carter's hand again and walked back into the kitchen.
