"She's not answering because she doesn't have the right to and you're coming with me, now, to my house, whether you like it or not. That's not a request but an order, Ms Lee."
Your eyes widened in disbelief at his words as you tossed your head toward him and the anger was evident in your eyes. Without thinking much, you walked straight to him, who was sitting so calmly on the sofa, one leg crossed over the other and fingers lightly tapping the armrest like he had all the time in the world.
You stopped in front of him, your hands tightening into fists by your sides.
"What do you even mean she doesn't have the right?" You snapped angrily at him while he raised his gaze to meet yours, his eyes were blank and cold, staring right through you but you kept going.
"Who do you think you are? You can't just walk in and act like you control people's lives."
"She's my mother, not your puppet..
..And I'm not yours either." Your voice cracked slightly from the emotions boiling inside you.
"You don't get to order me around like I'm s-something you own."
His eyes flicked to your face, then to your quivering hands making the corner of his mouth to twitch, but he said nothing.
You huffed in frustration when you see him unfazed. You took a deep breath and clenched your trousers with your hands and then again you looked at him angrily.
"You really think just because you speak like that, I'll follow you like some obedient girl? That I'll pack up and walk out of my house with a stranger? Then you're wrong because I'm not scared of you."
When you spoke, you weren't sure if that last sentence was true. In fact, your knees were almost shaking. But your pride wouldn't let you back down.
Meanwhile, his eyes stayed on you without blinking, like he was looking straight through your anger and into your fear.
Then, slowly, he stood up towering over you with dominance which made the air feel heavier around you. You nervously peered at him and took a small step back without realizing.
"You say I can't control people's lives huhh..?"
He remarked, followed by a chuckle while his stare pinning you in place. He then continued,
"Then let me tell you Ms Lee, you have no idea how much of your life I already do."
Your heartbeat thundered in your ears when you heard his words. You gulped your saliva and looked into his eyes not believing his words fully.
