The Club

"Min, wake up! "Shine said tapping Min's leg.

"We need to be early there. It's our first day today and we don't want to give them a bad first impression of us," she added excitedly.

Min rubs his eyes and stands up from his bed.

Shine is wearing a fitting, simple black tee shirt to her slender body and denim pants. Her long black hair is tied in a simple ponytail and she is wearing big framed eyeglasses. Min on the other hand is wearing a red tee shirt with a gray jacket above it and denim pants too. His black mushroom hairstyle is brushed neatly. Both Shine and Min wear Chuck Taylor sneakers.

At the club, Shine and Min approach a short-haired, Asian-looking lady. She is wearing a white long sleeves blouse and a pair of maong shorts.

"Hello!" Shine greets her friend—Monika— with a smile.

"Hi, Shine!" Monika happily greets too and kisses her cheeks. "Welcome to Toronto Curling and Cricket Club!" she proudly adds while her hands are extended upward.

"By the way, this is my brother, Min. He is the one I am talking about," Shine then introduced Min to Monika.

"Min, say hello to Monika" she ordered.

"Hi! My name is Min. Nice to meet you!" Min politely said and bowed.

"Hi too, Min!" Monika said, and she shifted her looked to Shine.

"Shine you are right, he is so cute!" Monika compliments.

Shine smiles proudly while holding Min.

"Let's go inside, I am going to introduce you to my boss... your future boss," Monika said to Shine and she lead them inside.

Once inside, Monika introduces Shine and Min to Mr. Elvin Johnson —the manager of the club.

"Shine, Min, he is Mr. Elvin Johnson, the manager of this club," Monika introduced Mr. Johnson to Shine and Min first.

"Nice to meet you, Sir. I am Shine and this is my brother Min," Shine said while her arms is extended ready to shake Mr. Johnson's hand.

"Sir, Shine is the one I am telling you about. She will be my replacement while I am gone," Monika told Mr. Johnson.

Mr. Johnson gets Shine's hand and shakes it.

"Nice to meet both of you too," Mr. Johnson said. With his authoritative voice, there's no denying that he is the boss of the club.

"Shine, can you start by tomorrow?" Mr. Johnson then directly asked Shine.

"Yes, Sir!" Shine answered without hesitation. Mr. Johnson smiled and seem pleased to hear her answer.

"Good! your work here is not that hard. You just have to manage the reception desk, Monika will teach you properly. Monika also mentioned your brother. Usually, we don't offer this privilege to part-timers but since we need you urgently, I am going to break the rule and let your brother train for free for the next two months," Mr. Johnson said and patted Min's head.

Min is not happy that Mr. Johnson is messing up his hair but he didn't show any displeased reaction.

Shine can't hide her gladness in hearing Mr. Johnson and bows to him repeatedly —maybe three times, while saying thank you.

Monika squeezes Shine's shoulder and only then did Shine has stopped.

Ring...ring

Mr. Johnson's phone suddenly rings.

"Hello" He answers.

Shine turn her head and looked at the rink. She can see various figure skaters practicing their jumps and spins. At the far back of the rink, there are images of three male skaters standing —Shine can only guess since she can't see them properly. Everyone inside seems to be enjoying and Shine can't help but smile at the sight of them.
