Love Him...Not

Flashback

Shine was getting a pen in her bag when a small white enveloped dropped.

"Oh right Mikka!" Shine said.

She picked it up and take a look what's inside.

Shine read first the note written in small piece of paper with Mikka's mobile number in it.

Call me when you see this.

And then she take out an old photo of two kids; a boy and a girl happily smiling in front of camera.

The boy has a mushroom cut hair, his chubby cheeks is rosy red. His eyes are smiling along with his lips. The Girl has a long curly hair, her cheeks is not as chubby as his. Her eyes are highlighted with her eyeglasses. She happily smiles too.

"Who are they?" Her inner self asked.

"I don't know but they look familiar!" Shine answered her inner self while she shake her head to indicate her confusion.

Shine get her phone and dial the number Mikka give her. 3 or 4 rings have passed but still no one is picking up. Shine is about to click the cancel button when suddenly someone answered.

"Hello?" A girl's voice said on the other line.

"Hi! Mikka?"Shine said, unsure.

"Yes! It's me...wait Shine? Is that you?" Mikka said. She sounded glad to have heard from Shine.

"Mmm" Shine shortly said to confirm Mikka's inquiry.

"Your call is a lot later than I expected" Mikka said honestly.

"Ah yes.. sorry about that but I only seen the picture just now and want to asked you about it" Shine said shyly.

"I know you'll say that.We can meet this afternoon around 2 p.m at the café near your place. And I'll gladly answer your questions" Mikka said.

"Ok! see you then bye" Shine said and hanged up.

"Relax Shine you are just going to meet her, you are not going to a battle field" Shine said looking at girl in the mirror standing in front of her.

She is wearing a plain dark gray cotton long sleeves,loose-flutter fitting top and a white with dark blue stripe maong shorts showing her white flawless legs. She pair her outfit with a simple flat, black ballet shoes. She rolled her hair up in to a bun and she head downstairs.

When Shine reach the café, she see Mikka sitting in one of the table by the window. A latte is on the right top of the table and her purse is place in her left side. She is wearing a white, lace, short dress and paired it with her red stiletto shoes; Mikka is an image of a leading lady star that come out from a movie. Mikka immediately waved her hand to Shine when she see her.

"over here! Shine" Mikka called Shine with a smile.

"this girl can just wear a trash bag and can still look fashionable" Her inner self insecurely said.

"Hi!" Shine said as she approached Mikka.

Mikka look at Shine as she take her seat.

"you look beautiful Shine" Mikka said.

"thank you..so are you" Shine said.

"so I guess we already know why we are here?" Mikka immediately said after their exchange of compliments.

Shine immediately bring out the old photo from her bag and place it in the center of the table.

"who are these kids?" Shine asked immediately.

Mikka get the picture that Shine put on the table. Mikka smile while she looked at it.

"The boy is Yuzuru and the girl is his first love actually his only love." She pause.

"She is the reason why even though girls are throwing themselves to him he doesn't noticed them. The reason why no one can penetrate his heart. And The reason why he can't see me more than just a sister" Mikka finished.

"so why do I have to hear this?" Shine's inner self said grumpily.

"but why are you telling this to me?"Shine confusedly asked Mikka.

"Shine, look at the girl closely doesn't she look familiar?" Mikka said handing the photo back to Shine.

Shine get the picture from her and looked at it closely. She cover her mouth as she finally recognized who is in the photo.

"but this is... impossible" Shine said with her shocked voice.

"His first love is YOU? Wait..wait let me correct that his ONLY LOVE is YOU?" Shine's inner self said.

"I don't remember looking like this — having a long hair and everything, when I was young.  Plus, I haven't been out of this country since I was young" Shine explain more.

"I don't know why or when this photo was taken. But all I know is seeing you with him makes me think that he really must LOVE you. Because if he just show you this, I know everything will be easier for him. But he said the he'll wait for you to remember him" Mikka said, as she looked at Shine staring in the picture, confused.

"Shine, I know this is confusing and Yuzu may really get angry with me by doing this but I really love him..." Mikka softly said.

Shine immediately look at Mikka when she heard her say: she love him .

"I knew it!" Her inner self said angrily.

"You..Love..Him?" Shine slowly said and frown.

Mikka see that Shine misunderstood her words and clarify herself.

"Yes! Shine, I love him but not in that way at least not anymore. Yuzu is and will always be part of my life, Shine. And I want to see him happy...he deserve to be happy. Besides I already have a boyfriend and I love him" Mikka clarifies and smile.

Shine is relieve to have heard her words but she stay calm, not showing any change in her expression.

Mikka smile and stand up.

"I hope everything is clear now. Yuzu might get angry at me because of this but I'll deal with him later. I am going now Shine, I still have a flight to catch. Bye!"

"Oh I see!, By the way, thanks for this" Shine said as she stand up while waving the photo in her hands.

"Just don't hurt him!"Mikka reminded her again and she smile.

"I will! And don't worry about Yuzuru getting mad, I will handle him" Shine assured and smile to Mikka.

Then, they wave each other goodbye and Mikka leaves. Shine is left standing alone with a picture in her hand.
