A/N – This chapter is dedicated to all my friends back home. Sorry for being an ass. You guys are awesome.
Chapter Two – Just waiting for my prince charming
I was placed second last in the relay because the captain always is last.
Before my chance came, I briefly glanced at the stands and saw his eyes on me.
Focus.. that was all I had to think for me to concentrate on what I do best. My mother always said that if I focus I can do anything.
I dived into the water and swam like never before. Just the feeling of being in the water gave me a boost.
And it got over faster than it started.
“Good timing Richards, if you go on like this you could finish last. The order is not finalized yet”
“Thanks coach”
After freestyle relay, we did 25 laps of solo swimming.
First, the swimming squads of different schools compete and whichever school wins is given some amount of money and a trophy.
Then, we have to compete amongst our team mates. The top two will compete with other school’s top two and whoever wins becomes The swimming champion, gets money and a medal.
After practice, Trent and I went to a café to get something to eat.
“Welcome to Huge’s Café, please give me your order.” Said a girl that looked like our age and the first three buttons of her shirt were unbuttoned and revealed something that did not please my eyes.
“I’ll have one chocolate milkshake and a blueberry muffin” I said placing my order.
Then she leaned on the counter and looked at Trent “And how may I help you?”
She said in what she must have thought was her seductive voice. Maybe I’m going to barf.
“I’ll have the same thing as her thanks.” He said ignoring her and placed some money on the counter .
“Keep the change”
I couldn’t help but let out a little laugh.
“You were really good today” His statement caught me by surprise.
“Thanks, could you do something for me?”
“Yeah sure, anything.” My heart melted.
But before I opened my mouth, he spoke again.
“Except, telling you where we are going tonight.” He said grining.
“Damn, you devil. You know me too well”
Our laughter was interrupted by the flirty girl at the counter and placed our order on the table of our booth.
She looked at Trent and said “Anything else?”
“Yeah, were you late for work today?” why did he ask her that? Where was this conversation leading to?
“No, I am always on time “ she said with her chin up.
“Oh! Because I thought that in a hurry you must have forgotten to button the rest of your shirt.”Her chin that was once up, fell down and she stared to fidget with her buttons and walked away.
I giggled.
~~
He dropped me home and since I didn’t know what to wear, Meg was gonna be there. Since Meg and me were together, Shane decided that he’ll go and change at Trent’s place.
