Chapter 8 – JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS
o_O
Woah! I guess my luck wasn’t that bad after all! Now, I shouldn’t mess this up, like I always do.
“And Chace, this young lady is –“
“Gwen, I know.” Said Chase cutting him off.
He remembered my name ?! I know, I know I sound like a stupid teenage girl but come on … we all have those days.
“We’ll leave you too alone now, since both of you seem to get along well. Come William.”
No dad. Don’t leave me!! I will surely do something stupid and embarrass myself.
I gave my dad a pleading smile. But as usual, he gave a smirk and took off.
That sly sly fellow! Let the embarrassment begin. Ugh!
“Haven’t ever seen you at any of these events in the past.”
“Yeah. I’m not keen on coming to these kind of things, too formal for me”
“Yeah, it does get boring after a while and the music puts me to sleep” He said.
“Hey, it’s a ball, what do you expect?”I raised my eyebrows.
“True that.” He agreed.
“Hey, who are those two?” I asked motioning towards two twins, who were staring in our direction.
“Aah! The one in the purple is Debbie, a total airhead and in the green is Debra, she is the smarter one.”
“How can you tell them apart?” I asked genuinely interested.
“Debbie always wears purple”
“Oh ok”
“Come, let me introduce you to our group”
“What kind of group?” I asked.
“There are more kids our age here”
“I’m good here thanks”
“Not much of a socialite?”
“No, I just hate being the new kid”
“Don’t we all but come on, you will die of boredom if you stay here any longer”
“Fine. So much for staying alive”
He chuckled and led me to a whole new room.
It was contradicting to the room I was in seconds ago.
Unlike the bright lights that lit up that room, this one was dark and instead of chandeliers there were disco lights. There, there was soothing slow music and here, Avril Lavigne was blaring from the speakers, it had FUN written all over it.
We passed a few people who were dancing and then I realized that this wasn’t where he wanted to take me. Infact, he led me into a room right across.
As I entered, I saw a girl who was murdering the controller, if she pressed it any harder I swear it would get spoilt. She was wearing a long red dress but was sitting cross-legged, she was the tom boy type, I figured. The guy was of average height and had white and black specs and was wearing a tuxedo, who was biting his tongue while sticking it out, both were absorbed into the game.
