Trevor waits outside a well lit home, night creeping up slowly. He leans against the car door, waiting for Atlas to return from her conversation with their captain. Trevor's eyes were sharp, watchful of any disturbances in the quiet night. He had to be vigilant, knowing the situation they were in, danger could be anywhere, and could come from anyone. Trevor's mind raced as he stood watch. He was thinking of everything that had happened over the course of only two days. It was almost unimaginable. Just as he's getting deeper in thought, Atlas and their Captain walked out. "I've got the general idea of whats going on. I've been able to pick up the Lieutenants location, so I'll send a squad to pick him up. You two, find a place to lay low for a bit. A hotel, if possible. And don't use your real names while registering" Captain Trill explained, his voice powerful yet also confident and reassuring. "Take my car. It doesn't seem like either of yours are safe right now" He tosses the keys to Trevor, who catches them. "Thank you, Captain. But, I have a request" Trevor states boldly. "I would like to be part of the squad that rescues the Lieutenant" Atlas looks at him in bewilderment. "You cant! It's too dangerous!" Captain Trill seems to think it over for a moment, his normally sharp eyes glaze for a brief moment as he loses focus. "Alright, I'll put you on the squad. Before I do anything, ill attempt to contact Lieutenant Sterling to get a status update. In the mean time, you two go and rest up" With that final note, the captain walks back into his house, making sure the door is secured and all windows are shut with blinds covering them. Trevor and Atlas exchange a glance of momentary relief, before Trevor unlocks their captains car and they both get inside. "Well, what should we do?" Trevor asks Atlas. "We should do what the captain said. Ill find us a hotel nearby we can stay in. Once he calls, you can go join the rescue team" Atlas responds. "There's a hotel we can go to pretty close by" She points towards a large building at the end of the road. With their plans set in stone, Trevor pulls out of the driveway and heads off to the hotel. The drive is only about two minutes, but it feels longer as Trevor and Atlas think back on the events of the current and previous day. They arrive at the hotel, and Trevor parks in a spot close to the main reception. Trevor and Atlas exit the vehicle, making sure it was locked before they head towards the reception to check in. Trevor can't help but feel uneasy whenever the two of them are out in the open. His eyes dart around, watching for even the slightest hint of motion down dark alleyways and peeking around buildings. The whole situation was exhausting, but Trevor barely noticed, instead keeping his mine occupied with the thoughts of what might happen, should he cease his watchful demeanor. They got to the front desk and Trevor was so intensely focused on assessing their surroundings, he didn't even pay attention to the conversation Atlas was having with the receptionist. Atlas speaking to him seemed to shake his concentration momentarily. "Are you alright, Trevor? Here, lets go to the room so you can get some rest" Atlas led him down the hall, up a short set of stairs, and to their temporary residence. Trevor followed Atlas, and for the first time that day, he let his guard down for a while. The hallways were narrow and he felt a sense of relief, knowing there couldn't be any surprises here. After a while of walking, Atlas stopped In front of a room and swiped the key card. They both walked inside to see a rather nice room with two beds, a bathroom and a kitchen area. Atlas sat down on the edge of the bed and sighed "This day has been exhausting" She exclaims, stretching out on the bed. Trevor, however, takes a seat on the chairs by the kitchen, not looking even the least bit tired. "Aren't you tired? You didn't sleep last night" Atlas sits up and points that out. Trevor shrugs, knowing he hadn't slept in TWO nights, but Atlas didn't need to know that. "I'm fine. You get some rest" With a bit of reluctance, Atlas hangs up her heavy jacket on the back of the door and collapses on the bed, falling asleep before she can even pull up the covers. Trevor, watching as she relaxes her body over the soft fabric of the hotel mattress, turns alert again. He doesn't intend to sleep, despite how groggy he was feeling. This was serious, and he didn't plan to sleep until after everything was over. Until he was sure they were safe. Atlas slept peacefully, and Trevor knew how hard she had worked for everything she had. Trevor wouldn't let anything happen to ruin the hard work Atlas had put in, so he swore he would make sure nothing happened to her. He leaned back in the chair and crossed his arms, steeling his resolve and keeping his eyes sharp. To keep his mind sharp and occupied, Trevor grabbed a pencil and a peace of paper from a notebook in his bag, and he started to write.
Jake was sitting in the stolen car next to Hailey. It was parked outside a gas station with no reception. Not that it mattered, since neither of them had a phone. Jake was contemplating what to do, as there weren't many good options. Neither of them were entirely sure where they were, so if they were to start driving, they would most likely end up lost. Hailey was exhausted, and so she slept peacefully in the seat next to Jake. It was at this moment, that Jake heard a very quiet beeping sound, coming from his wrist.
