Death UN-Done

Drew woke up in a foggy, chromatic field. everything was different colours and covered with a mist that seemed never ending. He walked around for a bit before he stumbled upon a figure resembling Jake. he walked towards the figure but realised that the area around him was getting brighter with the further he walked. eventually, the light got so bright, it was blinding him. he had to cover his eyes while he walked. eventually, his body felt lighter and the light faded to darkness.

Meanwhile, Drew's hospital room.

Doctors ran around the place in a panic. a loud buzzing sound was heard from Drew's hospital room as well as muffled crying. The heart monitor that had been hooked up to Drew, had flat-lined. Drew's mom sat in the room, crying as a nurse tried to comfort her. a doctor was running around the room, grabbing things to try and restore his heart to its normal, beating form. 

Back with Drew.

He opened his eyes and found everything around him was black. no, it wasn't black, it was dark. he realised he couldn't really move his body too much. he looked around and saw the figure. they were walking towards him. when they got closer, Drew realised it WAS Jake. the figure walked up to him. They looked Drew in the eye, and smiled. then, he said the two words that meant more to Drew than anything he had heard in a long time. "Thank you." Drew couldn't help but smile. He tried to say something but found that he couldn't talk. he was confused. Jake's smile faded as well as the world around them. the darkness returned to light as Drew started to fade. Jake took one last look at him, and smiled again, just before Drew faded completely.

Jake ran as fast as he could. the hospital just called him about Drew and he was determined to see him again. Tears streaked down his face as he bolted through the hallway of his school, with the music club yelling at him to slow down and tell them what was happening. He didn't stop running. as he passed Henry and Liam, he grabbed Liam and dragged him along and told them what was happening. he let go and the three of them ran as fast as they could. They ran through the front doors of their school and out onto the street. They burst through the doors of the hospital a few minutes later and ran to Drew's room. they paused, for the first time, just outside of Drew's door. Jake reached for the door handle, and pushed the door open. The trio walked through the door of Drew's hospital room to see him sitting upright in his bed, hugging his sobbing mother. Drew heard the door open and broke apart the embrace with his mother and stared Jake in the Eye's. They looked at each other for a second, Then Jake bolted to Drew and hugged him. Drew's mom looked at the pair and smiled. "I'll give you two some time." And she walked out of the room, followed by Henry and Liam, Leaving Jake and Drew alone together. The two broke apart and Jake sat on Drew's bed. The sat in silence for a moment until, "Jake, im sorry for being a bad friend." Drew told him with a solemn look on his face. Jake looked at him, surprised. "Drew, what are you talking about? You risked your life to save mine! your not a bad friend." Drew looked at him and sighed. "I tried to get you to leave the music club, i broke into your house and i convinced your friends to hate you." Jake looked down. Drew kept rambling about all the bad things that he did to Jake until. "I did all that stuff, even though i loved you.." Drew quickly covered his mouth as he realised what he had just said. Jake Looked at him with surprise. Drew stared at him. "Jake, i-im sorry i didn't mean to say that i just-" He was cut off by Jake kissing him. He was so caught off guard that he took a second before he realised what was happening. when they broke apart a few moments later, Drew was still in shock. "Jake, what-" He said as he felt his cheeks burn. Jake Looked at him and smiled. "you know, Drew, until a few days ago, i thought i was in love with Hailey." He told Drew. "But, i realised, that it wasn't Hailey that i TRULY loved. it was YOU, Drew" Drew looked at Jake with a shocked expression. he looked away as tears streaked down his face. Jake grabbed him and pulled him into a long hug. Jake kissed Drew again, this time for longer. They heard the door open and quickly broke apart. but unfortunately, they were too late. A Shocked Henry and Liam stood in the doorway with their mouths hanging open. Jake and Drew looked away from each other in embarrassment. Henry and Liam started laughing quite audibly. Drew started yelling at them, but that only made them laugh louder. Jake, finding this amusing, started to laugh quietly. Drew turned to him, frustrated. Jake leaned in and gave him a quick kiss before laughing even more. He turned to Henry and Liam to see Henry had his phone pointed towards Jake and Drew. Liam looked at the screen and laughed. They had taken a picture. Drew, now fuming. Tried to get up but felt his body was too weak. he groaned in pain as he layed down. Henry and liam stopped laughing and sat down in the chairs near Drew's bed. They all sat in silence for a while until they saw that Drew had fallen asleep. The decided to all leave the hospital and go back to school, considering they had just left without saying anything. as they walked out of the room, Drew's mother stopped Jake. He looked at her and she had a serious yet calming look on her face. "Take care of him, Jake." She asked him. Jake smiled. "I promise i will." And he left with Liam and Henry.
