A Date with the Devil

Jake ran away from Hailey as fast as he could. He was terrified of what she was going to do to him so he didn't stop running. He eventually lost her and breathed a sigh of relief. He continued walking to Drew's house, keeping an eye out for Hailey. Suddenly, he felt someone grab his arm and yank him down an alley. He was immediately frightened. He closed his eye's tight, waiting for something to happen. "Open your eyes, Jerk." Said a recognizable voice. He opened his eyes and stared in shock at the pink haired girl standing before him. "Milly?!" He replied, clearly confused. She lifted her hand up and Jake braced himself for a hard blow. Instead, Her hand rested calmly on his shoulder. He looked at her, confused. She sighed. "Let me see your phone." She asked. He panicked. "I-I dont have it on me." He replied nervously. Milly looked frustrated. "Of course you dont. it was stolen from you." Jake's eyes widened in surprise. "H-How did you know?" She hesitated, and replied. "I heard your conversation with Daisy. you didnt make that post, did you?" Jake shook his head. Milly sighed again and smiled. "Well, im sorry about earlier. I kinda thought you betrayed us and all." Jake laughed. "Dont worry about it, you had the right to think that with what you saw." He replied half-heartedly. They stood there awkwardly for a moment before Milly asked. "How about we go get something to eat together?" Jake was taken aback a bit by the offer, and then smirked. "Are you asking me out on a date?" He asked humorously. She laughed and sarcastically replied. "Why yes i am." They both laughed and walked off together. They stopped at a fast food place they both liked and put in their orders. While they waited, Milly decided to ask Jake a few things. "Hey Jake? Do you know who broke into your house?" She asked him. Jake shook his head. "They were wearing a mask of some sort. i couldn't see their face." Milly thought for a minute. "Do you know anyone who could have done it?" She asked. Jake shook his head again. Milly wanted to figure out who did it but knew she couldn't without any information. They picked up their food and sat at a table outside. While they ate, they joked around a bit. "So your telling me that Hailey owns FOUR guitars?" Milly asked in humored surprise. Jake laughed. "Yeah! I saw them last time i was over." They both laughed and traded Jokes and funny facts. After they finished their food, they went for a walk in the park to talk a bit more about what was happening with the music club. "So let me get this straight, Sean isn't disappointed anymore, Zander is just concerned and Hailey still hates me?" Confirmed Jake. Milly nodded. "And Luke doesn't seem to care either way." She added. They sat down on a park bench. "So do you think i should ask if i can join the club again?" Jake asked Milly.  Milly hesitated, and Replied. "I dont think Hailey would let you back in." Jake sighed and stared at the ground, Disappointed. Milly felt bad for Jake. "Ill talk to her and see what i can do, alright Jake?" Milly reassured him. Jake smiled at her. "Thank you." Milly smiled back. Jake looked up and froze. Milly could see his body tense. "Whats wrong?" She asked. She looked at where Jake was staring and realized why he was tensed. Walking through the park was the onyx eyed girl that Jake was not excited to see. Hailey turned and saw them. Her face became one of anger when she saw Jake, but switched to shock when she saw Milly with him.  She walked up to them and Jake averted eye contact. "MILLY!" Hailey shouted. "What are you doing with him!" She exclaimed, frustrated. Milly stood up and faced Hailey. "He didn't do anything wrong, Hailey" She defended. Hailey looked angry. "He publicly insulted us and acted like nothing happened!" She retorted. Milly sighed. "That wasn't Jake, it was the person that broke into his house and stole his phone." Hailey seemed to hesitate and glanced at Jake. He was sitting on the bench still, staring at the ground and looking nervous. Hailey looked away and responded. "You really believe that nonsense?" Hailey asked Milly, bewildered. "Of course i do! He's done nothing but help me! He has no reason to deceive me in any way. he even blackmailed his friend for me!" She responded, getting angry. Hailey tried to think of something to say, but couldn't. She just glared at Jake and stormed off. Milly sat back down next to Jake. She hugged him. "Dont worry Jake. dont let her get to you." She reassured him. Jake nodded meekly. "Thank you, Milly." They sat there for a few minute and Milly had an idea to lighten the mood. She grinned devilishly. She leaned over and kissed Jake on the cheek quickly. Jake shot back in surprise as Milly laughed uncontrollably. "W-W-WHAT WAS T-THAT FOR?!" Jake asked, flustered. Milly was still laughing a lot and managed to reply. "Sorry, just thought it would be funny." And continued laughing. Jake's face was flushed a light pink. "Dont do that ever again." He complained. Milly punched him in the shoulder lightly. "Didn't plan on it, dummy." She replied, still giggling. "I know you Like Daisy." They got up and walked through the park towards the exit. Milly decided to be a little devil, once again, and hugged Jake's arm. Jake was confused, and then he heard a voice remark. "Aw, what a cute couple." Jake looked for the voice and found a woman in her late twenties staring at them. Jake pushed Milly off his arm. "Really?" He asked, exhasperated. Milly was laughing again. "Ok, OK, ill stop now." She reassured him while laughing. They left the park and Jake walked Milly home. "Bye Jake." Milly called as he walked down the street. Jake waved at Milly and went to his house. Once he got in the front door he called his uncles name before remembering what he learned after school. he sighed and went up to his bedroom and layed down in his bed. He fell asleep almost instantly, while thinking of how his life had just fallen apart around him.
