                                                                            8 Years in the future.

Drew is sitting in an empty room. The walls are grey with light blue paint peeling off. it seems like it hasn't been fixed for decades. The chair Drew is sitting on breaks regularly and he has had to fix it an untold number of times. The door opens and he knows who walks in without looking up. He stands up and holds his arm out. He feels a prick in his forearm and the man says "Sit." Drew sits down and he feels a prick in the back of his neck. A few seconds pass and he hears the door open and close as the man leaves. he leans back in his chair and stares at the ceiling.

Jake sits at his desk, arms crossed and frustrated. It had been three weeks since he had become a Police Lieutenant and he was becoming stressed with the pressure and responsibility. He stared at the old, unsolvable case file on his desk and began wondering if it would EVER be solved. There hadn't been any leads for the past 5 years and he was beginning to lose hope. He picked up the file and stored it in his desk drawer. As he stood up, he heard "Lieutenant" and Jake turned around. "What is it?" The rather drawn back officer continued. "I need you to sign my arrest report for the BNE I worked last week." Jake took the clipboard out of his hand and placed his signature at the top of the page. He passed the clipboard back to the officer. "Thank you Lieutenant" He said and scurried off to pass on his report to the Captain. Jake sighed and walked toward the door of the precinct. He had an open homicide case he was going to work on. As he walked towards his car he spotted someone he vaguely recognized but he couldn't place them. He walked over to them. "Hey, how are you?" They turned around to face him and it hit him. "Hailey?" he asked in disbelief. She squinted at him, most likely trying to place him, and opened her eyes wide in surprise. "Jake? Jake Sterling?" She asked. "That's me" He smiled, Relieved to see a friendly face. She looked down at his outfit. "Your a cop?" She asked. He nodded. "Police Lieutenant." She looked shocked. "Wow, your much more mature than you were in school." Jake rolled his eyes and smiled. "Why Thank you, Princess" Hailey laughed at him. "So how have you been?" She asked him after calming herself down. "I've been Alright." He said to her with a warm smile. Hailey's smile faded as she took a realization. "Jake, What happened to Dre-" He cut her off "Don't. Just, Don't. Please." Hailey closed her mouth and remained silent as a shadow cast across Jake's face. After a few moments of awkward silence, Hailey asked "Well, Since your a lieutenant, I assume you have a squad of officers?" Jake looked up, face more bright with a smile. "Actually, Its a detective squad." Hailey was surprised by this. "Your a detective Lieutenant?" Jake nodded. "Do you wanna meet my squad?" Hailey was slightly taken aback by the offer, but accepted nonetheless. Jake walked her into his precinct and to the second floor. They walked through the gate and Hailey saw seven desks scattered about. "This desk is mine." Jake told her, as he strut towards a desk separated from the rest. Someone stood up from their desk and walked towards Jake. Hailey almost immediately recognized him. "Liam?" He nodded and smiled. "I thought it might be you when I saw the Lieutenant walk up with you." Hailey smiled at him. She has met two people from high school here with very respectable jobs. With their maturity at the time, she never would've thought they'd become cops. "Liam, Can you find Trevor and Atlas?" Liam nodded and walked off. "Atlas. That's a cool name." Hailey said to Jake. Jake laughed. "She love's it. Not because it sounds cool, but because she is a huge nerd. She actually HAS an atlas at her desk" He pointed to a desk in the far corner with a giant book on it. Hailey laughed at that as Liam returned with Atlas. "Trevor is out with a witness for his bank robbery." Jake nodded. "Atlas, I'd like you to meet my old friend, Hailey." Atlas smiled at her. "It's a pleasure to meet you Hailey! I'm detective Atlas. If the lieutenant thinks well of you, so do I." Hailey smiled. "Your so sweet." Jake looked at the two of them. Hailey had her deep turquoise hair with deep black eyes. Atlas had Jet-Black hair flowing down her shoulders and back, similar to Hailey. She wore a Black tuxedo-like jacket with A white button up shirt and Dark Grey Dress-Jeans. She had the second most arrests out of anyone in the precinct and she regularly credited it to Jake's tutelage. As Hailey talked with Atlas, Jake looked around and saw someone get off the elevator. And walk towards them. Jake tapped Hailey on the shoulder and Hailey looked at the man. Jake stepped forward. "Good afternoon Captain." Hailey realized that this was Jake's boss. If she remembered the ranks properly, Captain is the only person in a precinct that outranks lieutenant. "Good afternoon Lieutenant, Detectives. Who is your friend?" Hailey took a second to realize he was talking about her. "Oh, my name is Hailey. I'm an old friend of Jake's." The captain put his hand out. "My name is Vice. Vice Trill" Hailey shook his hand. "Its great to meet you, Captain Trill" He smiled at this. "Oh please, don't be so formal. You're our guest. Call me Vice." Hailey smiled again. "If you ever need anything, please, let me know." He finished as he walked towards his office. Before Jake could even turn back to His group, He heard "Lieutenant Sterling?" Jake look towards a postman. "I have another package for you" Jake sighed and closed his eyes while Liam and Atlas stayed silent. Hailey was confused. "Jake, what's wrong?" He looked at her and she could've sword she saw a tear in his eye. "Are you sure you want to know?" He asked. "Because if you do, you'll never forget." She hesitantly nodded. "Open the package" He said to her. Hailey walked over to the package that had been carefully placed on top of Jake's desk. She broke the tape and slowly pulled the box open. She looked inside and almost fell backwards, feeling like she was going to throw up. Inside the box, were several plastic bags of blood.
