Atlas and Trevor sat down, watching the footage of Hailey's car as it drove down her street, and straight past her house with out so much as slowing down. Trevor sighed. "Why didn't I notice earlier? There wasn't a car in the driveway when we showed up so of course she wasn't there" Atlas looked at him, seeing him frustrated for the first time was a bit surprising. "Well, now we know which direction she went in. We can pull security camera footage from the streets in that area until we find out where she went" Atlas replied, easing his tension even if only slightly. After thinking for a bit, Trevor seemed to realize something. "What if we track the signals coming from the Lieutenants cell phone? Does he have an emergency tracking system on the phone that activates if he hits a button the side?" Atlas thought for a bit. "Well, it does sound like a safety precaution that the lieutenant would employ. But wouldn't we have to be linked to the signal? Who do we know that the lieutenant would've broadcast an SOS signal too?" Both detectives thought for a bit and came up with nothing. "Let's try looking for the security footage and if that doesn't give us any information, we can come back to this" Atlas nodded and they both left the building they were in, making their way to Trevor's car. Just before Trevor opened the driver side door, he froze. "Atlas don't touch that door" He told her quietly just before she would've opened the door on the passenger side. "Why? What's wrong?" Trevor pulled a utility knife off his belt and used it to pop the door open without touching the handle. "Thankfully I didn't lock the door" He mumbled to himself. As the door was pulled open, he noticed a strange mechanism attached to the lock trigger of his card. He examined it as Atlas came around to his side of the car to see what the fuss was about. "It's a bomb" Trevor said, putting his knife away and backing up. "A BOMB?!" Atlas replied, shocked. "Why on earth is there a BOMB in your car?!" Trevor, after recognizing there wasn't a remote detonator, he picked up the bomb and place it on the ground. "How should I know where the bomb came from?" Trevor sighed. "This will delay us a bit". Trevor said as he picked up his phone to call a bomb disposal unit. He looked at the sky and wondered how his plain and boring life came to this.
Hailey wakes up, still in the unusually empty room where Jake is leaning against a wall, appearing to be in deep thought. It had been two days since they were locked in this room and the eerie silence and bright white decor was starting to give Hailey a headache. Ever since the first day in the room, Hailey couldn't bring herself to talk to Jake, though he made many attempts to engage with Hailey himself. She sat up in the bed she fell asleep in and waited for her eyes to adjust to the ridiculously bright room. "Hailey, I don't get it. Are you mad at me or something?" Hailey took a second to realize what he was asking. "What? No, I'm not mad at you." Jake sighed and stood up straight, adjusting his jacket. "Then why wont you have a conversation with me? We're both stuck here, so we should at least find some way to pass the time" Jake sounded exasperated when he said this. "So can we talk? My shoulder is getting tired from smashing into the door" He smirks, attempting to lighten the mood. For a second, Hailey sees a part of Jake that reminds her of High School. Hailey looked at the ground for a second, before looking up at Jake and smiling. "Sure, Jake. We can talk". Just as Jake was about to say something, they heard a metal grinding sound as the door began to open. Jake and Hailey both stood up quickly, cautious of what would come through the door. Hailey spots Jake hiding something behind his back, slipping it into a pocket. Though she doesn't see what the object was. The door opened completely and a man with a mask that looked like a typical clinic doctor walked into the room. "Hello you two. Jake, Hailey. How are you feeling?" Jake and Hailey both tensed up after hearing this. Jake suddenly bolted towards the man and attempted to tackle the man to the ground. The man standing before Jake, however, had a syringe that Jake didn't see. They attempted to inject it into Jake's arm but before they could, Hailey reacted on instinct and smacked the syringe out of their hand, catching the man off guard for long enough that Jake pinned them to the ground. The whole situation didn't appear to go the way the man expected as he was clearly flailing frantically. Jake quickly used the string from the doctor's name tag to tie him to the post of one of the beds. "People will notice when he takes too long. We need to run NOW" Jake says to Hailey, with clear urgency in his voice. They both sprint out the door and down a bright hallway with many doors just like the one on the room they were in. The hallway seemed to stretch forever until they reached a door unlike the others. It was a regular door with an id scanner. Jake tapped the id belonging to the employee they took down and the door buzzed open. Hailey looked through the door and saw many people wandering around an office space. "Shit" Jake spouted before quickly closing the door. He seemed to be thinking while analyzing their situation. Hailey peered through the window on the door and noticed that none of the people in the room had uniforms of any kind. "Jake, what if we just walk in? No one in that room has any kind of distinguishing clothes that would give us away in our attire" Jake paused and looked through the window, validating her theory. "That's a good idea Hailey." Jake buzzed the door open again and they both took a deep breath before striding into the room filled with people who wanted to capture them.
