Drew walked up to Jake's house and stared at it. He was nervous because if he got caught, he would be in a lot of trouble. He walked over to the garage door and started prying it up. it started slowly inching up and then he heard a crack. he looked up and froze in horror. Jake had opened his window and was looking around outside. Drew jumped behind the car parked outside Jake's house. Jake looked at the front of his house and stared. Drew's mind went blank as he realized he had left the crowbar under the garage door. Jake stared at it with eye's wide. he darted back into the house, no doubt going to inspect the crowbar. Drew had to do something. He panicked and looked around, then realized Jake left his window open. He went to Jake's window and climbed through. he saw Jake's phone on his nightstand. he snatched it and was about to jump out the window when he saw police lights flashing. "HEY!" Drew whipped his head around and stared at Jake. if he hadn't been wearing the ski mask, Jake wouldve known it was him. He looked at Jake and back out the window, then jumped. he landed, stood up and ran as fast as he could down the street. He heard the police sirens getting closer and became even more terrified. He had never been in trouble with the police and now he was being chased by a police car after breaking into a house. He darted down an alleyway and sprinted faster than he's ever ran before. He turned around and saw a police officer chasing him. Drew turned another corner and noticed a broken down dresser. he hid behind it and waited, heart pounding in his chest. he saw the police officer run past without a second glance. Drew waited till he couldn't see the officer, and took off towards his house. he got there without any issues. he walked in the door and froze. Jake was sitting on his couch and it looked like he was crying. Jake heard him come in and turned around. Drew had removed his Ski mask so Jake had no idea what Drew had just done. "JAKE! whats happened?" Drew asked and moved to his side, putting an arm around Jake's shoulder. Jake sobbed again and said, "Someone broke into my house and took my phone. i saw him run from the police but didnt see him again." He replied, sobbing between words. "I came here cause i thought you might let me stay here for the night since im scared to go back home." Drew hesitated, then nodded. "of course Jake, you can sleep in a spare room." Jake smiled. "Thank you, Drew." Drew also smiled. "No problem, Jake."  Drew went and prepared Jake's room while Drew's parents consoled Jake and promised him they would keep him safe. Drew called Jake into his new room and they sat down. "Feeling better?" Drew asked. Jake nodded. "Thank you, Drew." Drew smiled then thought of something. "Hey Jake, is your uncle still at your house?" Drew asked. Jake's face changed. "yeah, he knows im here and wanted to stay." He replied. Drew nodded in understanding. "well, goodnight Jake. ill see you in the morning." Said Drew as he walked out. Drew went to his own room and was about to go to bed when he remembered what he did and why. He pulled out Jake's phone and stared at it. He turned it on. he went to the keypad and took a deep breath. he typed 3 0 4 5 into the keypad. the phone opened to Jake's home screen. Drew sighed with relief. It was time for him to finish his plan.

Jake had been laying down in his bed when he heard a metal grinding sound. he cracked open his window and looked outside. after a few seconds of looking around, his eyes landed on a bright red crowbar stuck underneath his garage door. he stared at it for a few seconds and panicked. he ran back into his house and told his uncle. his uncle had already seen and called the cops. Jake went back to his room and froze. someone wearing all black was perched on his window staring out it with Jake's phone in his hand. "HEY!" Jake yelled at the intruder. He looked at Jake, and then jumped out the window. Jake bolted to the window and saw him running down the street as the cops followed him. Jake's heart was pounding and he didn't realize that he started crying. Jake's uncle walked in. "Jake, maybe you should go to Drew's house for the night." he suggested. Jake nodded and put on his sneakers and left the house and walked towards Drew's house. He was very nervous. what if he encountered the intruder again? He got to Drew's house with no problem. Drew's parents let him in because Drew had gone out. Jake sat on the couch for a few minutes and he heard the door open. he turned around and saw Drew standing at the door. Drew was frozen and stared at Jake with concern and fear in his eye's. he walked over and comforted Jake. he invited Jake to stay the night and began setting up the room he would be staying in. Drew's parents came over. "Jake, if there is anything we can do to help, just let us know." Drew's mom reassured him. "We will buy you a new phone if you would like." Jake shook his head. "i couldn't ask that of you. you've already done so much for me." He replied with a grateful smile on his face. "Nonsense. I will go pick it up for you tomorrow." Drew's dad Announced. Jake smiled and a tear streaked down his face. "Thank you for everything." He hugged them both. Drew called Jake's name and Jake went to his new room for the night. He climbed into bed and went to sleep immediately.
