A researcher with deep purple hair walked through the conference room, eating his lunch. He saw two figures who looked vaguely familiar stride into the room. No one spared so much as a glance other than him. The people were wearing rather ordinary outfits for the area they were in so he didn't think too much of it until he made eye contact with one of them and they quickly broke it. He stared at them, intrigued. He could swear he recognized the look in that mans eyes. With his peach hair and deep mahogany eyes, he seemed vaguely familiar and the researcher just couldn't shake the feeling. There was something unmistakably recognizable.
Jake walked through the room with Hailey, trying to be as discreet as possible. Jake's heart started to race when he kept locking eyes with someone who was watching them. He whispered quietly to Hailey "Someone's staring at us. We might be caught". He saw Hailey visibly tense up upon hearing this. They walked through the room, trying to blend in as much as possible while not attracting the attention of the other workers. The office space was a very vast opening in an otherwise cramped building. It had a high ceiling and many cubicle's where researchers did their work close to one another. After a cruel and agonizing thirty seconds, the pair made it to the other side of the room and to a door leading outside. Just as they touched the handle, an alarm sounded throughout the whole building. Jake instantly threw the door open. "RUN" The two sprinted as fast as they could. Once they got a few meters, they were shocked to realize they were on an open tarmac plain that stretched for hundreds of meters. "We wont make it anywhere out here. It's way too open. They'll catch us in an instant". Hailey said while slowing to a more manageable pace. Jake slowed to her same pace and nodded. "Yeah there's not much we can do here except hope that we can make it far enough before they spot us" As Jake said this, they heard something behind them that made their bones chill. They turned and saw a car driving towards them from the research facility. "There's no way we can outrun a car. What should we do?" Hailey asked in a panic. "Stop. Wait till I give a signal" Hailey nodded and they stopped, turning around. The car drove up to them and stopped. Right as the door opened and someone went to get out of the drivers seat, Jake shouted "GO" and the pair started sprinting again. The guy who was driving the car got caught off guard and struggled to get back in and start the car quickly. "That only bought us a bit of time. Don't stop running!" Jake exclaimed as they both kept running, knowing that their chances of escape were slim.
Atlas and Trevor were driving in Atlas's car, since Trevor's car was no longer safe. "What now?" Atlas asked while driving. "We need to think of someone who the Lieutenant would give his tracker to. It would need to be someone he trusts" They both thought about this for a while. "It would have to be someone he trusts AND who would have enough power or influence to actually do something in an emergency situation" Atlas thought out loud. A realization suddenly hit Trevor. "What if he gave it to the Captain?" This revelation made sense to Atlas. "Your probably right. The Captain is someone who he can trust and would have enough power to give aid if needed. Let's go talk to him".
Jake and Hailey continued to sprint as the car had regained all ground it had lost in seconds. "There's no may we can escape him" Hailey panted, exhausted and out of breath. "What do we do?" Jake looked back and then ahead, realizing that they truly had no hope of escape. "Stop, Hailey" Jake told her and slowed to a stop. Hailey was confused and scared. "Why? What are we going to do?" Jake looked at her reassuringly. "Don't worry. Leave it to me" The driver stopped in front of them and this time, got out of the car without turning it off. He approached Jake and barely managed to dodge when Jake attempted to punch him in the face with all his might. The driver pulled a taser out of his pocket and jabbed it into Jake's side, causing him to wince in pain as the electricity surged through his body. He fell to one knee once the taser ceased and just as he was about to be tied up, he noticed Hailey quickly getting into the car the man had left unattended. She drove forward quickly, back door open and Jake, in a desperate gamble, jumped into the open door, slamming against the leather seat and causing him quite a bit of pain before he regained himself and closed the door, watching the man hopelessly chase after them. Jake sat properly in the seat and sighed with relief. "Nice job Hailey. Quick thinking" She laughed at him. "I had to do something. Your 'Heroic' plan failed miserably" Jake laughed with her. "Well, let's not wait around to find out what other plans they have to catch us." Hailey agreed and sped up a bit, wanting to gain as much distance as possible from the building. "This all seems a bit too easy, don't you think?" Hailey asked, a bit skeptical of what was happening. "You know what, you're right. They never would've let us escape this easily unless they wanted us to" Jake began to ponder what was going on. As he was thinking, Jake made a horrifying realization. "They let us escape because they know we can't go anywhere" Hailey was confused. "What do you mean? We're driving away right now" Jake began trying to figure out what they we're trying to do when he saw something in his peripheral vision. A figure pointing something at them. Something Jake was all too familiar with. This man was pointing a gun at the window of their car.
