The lights, the monitor, the screen. Zosia entered the room and went through the steps of the procedure she was about to perform.
She thought to herself,"Make a small incision to the left of ventricular artery and then..." She was interrupted by Jesse asking her if she was ready to begin. Without realising she had already taken 5 minutes standing in front of the patient.
"What? Oh yeah sorry..." She clumsily replied. She breathed out. This was the first in hopefully a long line of operations she would be leading. If only her mamma could see her now- having a good relationship with dad, graduating from her foundation years of medicine and settling down with Seb! She was proud of herself. Sadly she had to go back to reality and she prepared herself.
She felt the smooth surface of the scalpel. Carefully Zosia picked it up and looked for Jesse for some support. He nodded to suggest she should begin and so Zosia made the small incision.
It was all going well until his blood pressure suddenly dropped. Jesse dashed to pump more blood into his system. It seemed like for an eternity of the wail of the monitor. All Zosia could here was the ringing in her ears.
She breathed out a sigh of relief. It was a close call but his blood pressure began to rise slowly. Zosia wiped the sweat of her brow.

After she closed up she headed to to staff room.
Zosia lay on the sofa and rested her head.
