The day she realises. [COMPLETED]

The Big Announcement

Zosia lay in bed staring at the gap in the curtains. Ollie's legs were entwined in hers and his arm was protectively placed on her stomach. Suddenly she had the urge to vomit and dashed to the toilet leaping over clothes and bags. 

After emptying her stomach she sat on the toilet worrying about telling everyone that she was pregnant. She had only just turned 27 and was about to finish her F2 year but now she was pregnant.  She felt faint so put her head in her hands just as Ollie came in.

"Morning sickness?"he asked and Zosia nodded her head. Zosia stood up and headed to the sink and splashed some cold water on her face. Ollie came behind her and gave her a quick shoulder massage.

"Thanks Ollie."she said smiling as she walked towards the standing mirror. Zosia lifted up her top and could make out a tiny bump. 

"Are look at the little bump."Zosia exclaimed and Ollie kissed her. He looked at the clock and it said 8:30. 

"Zosh, we're going to be late!"

The quickly got dressed and dashed to the front door. Zosia thought to herself,"Is it always this much of a rush in the morning?"

Fortunately Elliot Hope was in theatre when they arrived into work late but Mo was sitting in the nurses' station observing them as they kissed each other. Thinking no one was watching them, Ollie put his hand in Zosia's stomach and smiled. Mo turned away when she saw them walking towards her.

"Hey!" Zosia said cheerfully.

"Morning!"Mo replied looking at Zosia's stomach. She could make out a little bump but didn't want to say in case Zosia had just put on a bit of weight. 

"Well, I'd better be off to the meeting then..."

Zosia and Ollie stared at each other and walked off to treat their patients.

Once all of the Darwin Staff had finished the meetings and were out of theatre Ollie braved to tell them the big news.  "May I have your attention everyone. This will only take a minute. We have a big announcement to make!"Ollie informed everyone. All of the staff turned their heads and went to the nurses' station. 

Zosia stood next to Ollie looking nervous and he grabbed her around the waist. 

Ollie exclaimed,"We're having a baby!" As the words came out of his mouth Zosia felt the whole ground shaking. He had told everyone. There was no secret anymore. Everyone new that she was going to have a baby. Everyone congratulated the couple and Zosia was really excited yet nervous. 

"It felt real now." She thought. 

Mo came over and told them,"I thought you might have been pregnant. If you look really closely then you can just about make out a little bump!" They all talked for a bit but then Hanssen came on the ward.

"Nice to see that the ward duties are being carried out Professor Hope!"He stated sarcastically.

"Sorry Mr Hanssen, Zosia and Ollie were just telling us their good news."Professor Hope answered.

"And what would this good news be?"He asked.

"I'm pregnant!" Zosia squeaked in an excited tone. 

Hanssen nodded and congratulated them before telling the staff,"You can all get on with your jobs now. Patients are waiting! Doctor March. Doctor Valentine." He walked off.

The couple couldn't believe it. It was all so real. They were going to be parents in the next 6 months!
