A week after Zosia's bipolar episode, she was happily back at work busying herself.
"How are you sweetie?"Ollie asked as he wrapped his hand around his wife's petite waist.
"Yeah.. Why? Has Jac said something again?"Zosia asked putting the files down and turning to Ollie.
"No, no Zosh! I just thought after the traumatic week you've had that you might want to go and grab a coffee with me." To this comment, Zosia twisted her nose.
"Er, no thanks, I'm not really in the mood for a coffee."she replied quickly dashing off to a patient. Immediately, Ollie thought back to previous pregnancies Zosia had had. In each one, she had despised coffee.
...
Throughout the day, Ollie noticed his wife sprinting randomly to the toilet and eating a lot of food.
With a smirk on his face he blurted loudly, making sure all of the staff and patients could hear him,"Someone's been having a lot of food."
"Well it's not all for me..."Zosia began before realising what she had said. Cursing under her breath, Ollie began to laugh.
"What! Are you pregnant?"He tried to say before bursting into fits of laughter.
Playfully, Zosia whacked him in the arm, "of course I am stupid!"
Ollie picked Zosia up and carried her(bridal style) to the car.
...
Back at the house, Ollie asked,"so how long have you known then?"
"About 3 weeks. I think that's what brought on my bipolar thing. You know all of the hormones."Zosia replied.
Ollie pulled his wife into a deep kiss. It was soft yet passionate- just the way Zosia liked it. As Ollie pulled her on top of him, their daughter walked into the bedroom. Quickly putting his trousers back on he asked Cara,"What did we say about knocking Cara?"
"Sorry daddy and mummy but I don't feel well."the toddler whimpered.
"Aw, come here. I'm sorry sweetie"Ollie said as his 2 year old daughter walked over to him in a daze.
Her doctor instinct kicking in, Zosia went to the bathroom where they had the thermometer. Rushing back Zosia gently put it in Cara's ear.
"Mm. 38.7*C. We might need to take her to the hospital Ollie."She said in a worried tone. Both parents knew what it could be. It could of course be nothing they kept telling themselves but deep down they had a feeling hat it was a life threatening illness, especially in young children- meningitis.
...
"We've got her bloods back."Connie began,"and I'm sorry that it isn't the best of news."
Zosia rushed over to Cara and started hugging her tightly.
"We think it is meningitis..."
Ollie coughed to try and disguise his tears but Zosia (being pregnant being the contributing factor) burst out crying and she cradled her daughter.
"It's alright Cara. We're not going to lose you."Zosia said kissing her daughter.
"What do you mean lose me mummy? Do you mean like that time when I got lost in tesco?" Cara asked. Zosia just continued crying.
"How could this happen to me?" She thought to herself.Sorry that it is so short but I have a big Latin test tomorrow so I have to revise😒😫
