"Violet, hurry up!" I yell half way out the door.
"Coming!" She shouts back. She is only fourteen, so I have to drive her to school. She goes to Jamestown high school like me, but she is a freshman.
We jump in the car, and I speed to school, hoping that I won't get stopped by the police for speeding. Once we get to school, I park the car, and we grab our bags from the back and head in. We only have two minutes to get to class, since Violet just had to change her shoes since they didn't go with her outfit.
"Bye Cassidy! See you after school!" Violet exclaims running down the hallway.
"Wait......" I shout after her. But she turned the corner, so I guess she isn't gonna listen to me anymore.
The halls are empty and I have no idea what my schedule is, or where my locker could be, since it is the first day of school. Neither does Violet. That was what I was trying to tell her but she didn't listen to me. Lucky for her, some of her friends actually go here, but I'm not sure if any of my friends go here.
I start to walk towards the attendance office and notice a guy about my age, sitting on a chair next to the attendance lady.
"Hi, I'm Cassidy Brooks, I am a junior, and I haven't gotten my schedule yet." I explain to the attendance lady.
"Hello Cassidy, I am Mrs. Simz, and I can definitely help you with that." I am relieved to know that I am not in trouble, at least not with Mrs. Simz.
She scrolls through her computer to find my name, and while I am waiting, I guess that the guy next to Mrs.Simz noticed the concern on my face.
"My name is Adrian Dobbs, I am also a junior, and I am Mrs. Simz TA." He explains very politely. He looks me straight in the eyes, and for some reason I can't look away. He has beautiful light blue eyes. I can't help but stare.
"Ah, here!" Mrs. Simz breaks my gaze as she turns toward me.
"For first period, you have English with Mrs. Copil. Adrian, would you please guide Cassidy to room B288." Mrs. Simz explains.
"Sure thing!" Adrian replies with a smile. We start towards the stairs in the nearest hallway. We climb a flight of stairs and turn left. Adrian decides to break the silence. He stops in the middle of the hallway and asks me if I know what class I have after that, and I reply:
"No, she only told me my first period."
"Well then, I can get your full schedule right now, and you can meet me by the attendance office right after first period, then I can give it to you." He says in a confident manner.
"Sounds like a plan!" I reply in a more nervous tone.
"Don't worry, you're going to do great." With that, Adrian strides down the hall to point to room B288. And then he walks the other way to the stairs.
Before he is completely out of site I yell a thank you. Not sure if he heard it, or not, I walk into Mrs. Copil's classroom.
----------------------------------------------
As soon as I walk in the door, nearly everyone in the room turns and stares at me. AWKWARD!!!!!!"Hello?" Mrs. Copil asked puzzled.
"I....I am Cassidy, this is first period English, right?" I stutter.
"Oh, yes!" Mrs. Copil replies reassuringly.
"Please take a seat next to Kennedy." Mrs. Copil says.
I look to the very back of the classroom and I see Kennedy, sitting all alone. She has short blonde hair and hazel eyes. She wears black glasses, and she even has braces. She seems like a stereotypical nerd, if you ask me.
"Hi!! My name is Cassidy." I exclaim walking closer to the desk next to Kennedy.
She doesn't answer. She must be pretty shy. I wait a few seconds for an answer, but she still doesn't answer, so I decide to pull the chair out, and sit down. Taking my binder out of my bag, and setting it on my desk. I look around the classroom, to see what types of people are in my class. Their are probably around twenty five students in the room.
I hear a lot of people whispering, I'm guessing that they are probably talking about me. Because when I look over to where five girls are sitting, I notice them exchanging rude glances from me, back to each other. I think that they are the popular girls, judging on their short skirts, and their gossiping.
Mrs. Copil starts to introduce herself, but I'm not paying any attention to them. I am still scanning through my piers. My gaze eventually lands on a group of boys who are wearing normal clothes, and they act normal, so I can't quite tell what type of people they are, but they are talking pretty loudly, so they are obviously not shy.
I really hope that I will make some friends before the end of the day.
