'Vanaheim.'
'It's amazing.'
'Yes. It is.'
'What do we need from here?'
'A Siren's song, Medusa's mirror, and the saliva of a Gryphon.'
'Which one do we do first?'
'Let's start with the Gryphon.'
Loki bent down, and scraped something thick and green off of the floor.
'What's that?'
'Gryphon spit.'
'That was easy.'
'Good, because the rest aren't going to be.'
'Can we do Medusa's mirror? I can remember the myth almost perfectly.'
'It wasn't a myth.'
'Legend, then. Isn't she the mother of all Pegasi?'
'Yes, she is.'
'But she didn't have a mirror,' Savannah pointed out.
'Perseus did, though. It was a mirrored shield, I think.'
'It was, but where do we find it?'
'I do not know, but the Vanir will.'
'Okay, and the Siren's song? How do we get that?'
'You know what the Sirens were, right?'
'Yes. They were lovely winged creatures, who lured sailors to their deaths with their beautiful voices. But how do we get their song? It is not tangible, is it?'
'You have seen The Little Mermaid, yes?'
'I have. Did you know it was released on my birthday?'
'No. I do now, though.'
'I don't see what it has to do with anything.'
'The sea-witch, Ursula, trapped Ariel's voice in a shell, did she not?'
'Yes. She did, but we don't have a magical shell.'
'You don't. I do.'
'Three questions. One, where did you get the shell from? Two, can I have one? Three, when did you see The Little Mermaid?'
'I made the shell with my magic, and if you're good, you can get one. I can't remember when I saw it, though.'
'Where do we find the Sirens?'
'Come with me.'
It felt as if they were walking for ages, but Savannah definitely preferred sore feet to not existing, however temporary. Eventually, they came upon a silver lake. In the centre of the lake, there was a large rock. On it were three winged women, combing their hair, and singing softly. Loki turned to Savannah.
'Could you go and capture their song?' he asked.
'Can't you do it?'
'I could, but then I would be put into a trance by their song.'
'Then block your ears, like Odysseus did.'
'Actually, that didn't happen. It will work on all males, no matter what.'
'Fine,' she said, 'But if they beat me up, will you rescue me?'
'Of course.'
Savannah closed her eyes, and teleported herself to the small island. It felt better to teleport herself, than have other people do it.
Loki's POV- Third Person:
Savannah disappeared, and Loki could see her talking to the Sirens. They were much farther away than he had anticipated, too far to hear properly, or even lip-read. He felt powerless, and prayed to Odin that she would be alright. Eventually, Loki saw her nod, and then she was no longer in front of him, but beside him.
'Let's go,' she said, 'I want some hot-chocolate, and internet, and I doubt they have it here.'
'We still need the shield.'
'No, we don't.'
'What?'
'I spoke to the Sirens, they're really friendly- just lonely, and they said that anything with a terrifying/hideous reflection could work.'
'Yes, but we haven't got anything like that.'
'Yes, we have.'
Realising what she meant, Loki's eyes widened.
'No,' he said, 'It's far too dangerous, for both of us.'
'It'll be fine.'
'It won't, so we aren't going to do it.'
'Whatever. It makes sense.'
'It is a ridiculous idea.'
'It is not.'
'I can't take the risk.'
'There is no risk.'
'You are right. A risk implies that something might go wrong. Everything will go wrong.'
'Loki, please.'
'No.'
A/N: Can anyone guess what it is they're arguing about? First person gets the next twelve chapters dedicated to them.
