💌An update, finally! Yeahh... I know it’s been a long time since I last updated. I actually wrote this chapter more than two weeks ago, but I was too lazy to edit it and honestly, caught up in my own chaos.
Also, I’ve officially titled the book “Slow Updates” now, so please cooperate and bear with me.
~ENJOY~
Adved’s POV
Flashback--
She thought I had drifted.
She thought I was too busy to even look at her properly anymore.
And I let her think that because I had to. I knew it must’ve hurt her she’s not the kind to say it directly, but I could feel it in her tone, the little pauses between her sentences.
While she lay awake at night wondering why I’d changed… I was sketching the blueprints of a moment I wanted her to remember for the rest of her life.
Every text delay, every missed call, every dry “I’ll talk later” was me hiding something beautiful.
First, I spoke to her parents. Convincing them wasn’t hard. In fact, her mom got emotional and her dad gave me that look the kind that says “don’t screw this up.”
Then came my parents and they were completely on board.
But the biggest support? Her sister.
God, that girl was unstoppable once she knew. She helped me sneak into her world without her ever knowing it. What dress she’d want to wear, her comfort food, even how she'd like the lights.
All while I was sitting in office meetings, pretending to be busy with numbers I was planning our moment.
And I didn’t stop there.
I pulled Lakshya and Trisha into it the most annoyingly romantic couple I know. They handled the finer details.
We planned the evening like a movie the entry, the lighting, the excuse to get her there, everything down to the music that would play when she walked in.
And she didn’t suspect a thing.
And after weeks of back-and-forth, planning things down to the last fairy light, I finally had it ready.
The night before the function, I couldn’t wait anymore. I showed up at her house.
She was surprised. Her expression when she saw me at the door somewhere between shock and soft longing.
I pulled her close and said
"Tomorrow, you have a photoshoot. It’s important. Just trust me."
She looked confused, but she nodded.
I kissed her forehead, apologized softly for all the distance, all the silence.
And then… the next day came.
Adrijaa walked in wearing that white dress, soft fabric hugging her frame, her collarbones glowing under fairy lights, and her eyes those eyes scanned the room until they met mine.
My breath... just stopped.
She wasn’t just beautiful.
She was mine.
And she looked like the kind of love poets can’t describe properly.
I couldn’t wait for the function to end.
I needed her close.
I needed to touch her, taste her, remind her that she’s not just loved she’s wanted.
She walked down the aisle thinking it was a shoot.
And then she saw everyone.
Her parents, mine, her sister, Lakshya, Trisha, bhaiya-bhabhi and baby Sitara all standing there. Waiting. Smiling.
And then she saw me, standing in a tuxedo, my heart pounding in my chest.
Her eyes widened. She froze mid-step.
The realization hit her like a wave and I watched it happen in real time. The disbelief, the shock, the trembling hands.
