Adrija's POV

The morning didn't arrive with an alarm.
It arrived with a feeling.
I was half-awake when I realised my phone was already glowing beside me. The screen was warm against my cheek, and when I focused, I saw him.
Adved.

He was already awake, lying on his side, head propped on his hand, eyes fixed on the screen like he had been watching me for a while.
"You're staring," I mumbled, voice sleepy.

He smiled. That slow, quiet smile that always made my heart soften.
"I woke up five minutes ago. You were smiling in your sleep."

I frowned. "At you?"

"Obviously," he said, as if there could be no other reason.

I turned slightly, burying my face into the pillow, suddenly shy.
He laughed softly, the sound travelling through the phone like a hug.
"Good morning, almost my wife," he said.

"Good morning," I replied. "Why are you awake so early?"

"Couldn't sleep," he said honestly. "Too many thoughts. And you weren't here to steal my blanket."

I smiled. "You're dramatic."
"And you love it."

We stayed like that for a while-him watching me, me tracing invisible patterns on the bedsheet. No rush. Just presence. The kind that makes distance feel smaller.

A tiny cry interrupted us.

I turned my head toward the cradle beside the bed. My nephew stirred,
He slept with me today, his face scrunching before relaxing again.

Adved's expression changed instantly. Softer. Warmer.
"There he is," he said. "My tiny reason for letting you leave me."

I laughed quietly and stood up. "I'll call you later. He's awake."
"Go," he said. "But send me his photo."

"I always do."

"I want more."

.........

The house slowly came alive.
My sister was already in the kitchen when I stepped out, tying her dupatta, hair slightly messy, eyes tired but glowing in that new-mother way.
"You didn't sleep again," I said.

She smiled. "Worth it."

We sat together near the cradle, sipping tea, whispering like the world might break if we spoke too loudly.

"What about names?" she asked.

I leaned closer to the baby. "I like names with meanings. Something connected to strength... or light."

She nodded. "You always were like that. Even as a child."

We tossed names around, laughing when none of them felt right. Every time we almost decided, he'd move his tiny hand or make a sound, and we'd change our minds.

Then the doorbell rang.
Not loud. Just once.
My heart jumped for reasons I didn't understand until the door opened.
Adved's parents.

For a second, I froze.
Then everything moved at once.

His mother stepped inside, eyes scanning the room until they found me. She didn't say anything-just walked straight toward me and pulled me into her arms.

"There you are," she whispered. "We were missing you."

I felt my throat tighten. "You came..."

"Of course," she said. "How could we not?"
