Adrija's POV
I stepped into the room, my eyes immediately landing on Mumma, Papa, Didi, Jiju, Aunty, Uncle, Bhai, Bhabhi, Sitara, Trisha, and Lakshya all of them dressed as if they were about to attend a grand party.
A wave of emotion swept over me as I walked quickly towards my mother and hugged her tightly. It felt so good to see everyone gathered, but at the same time, something felt off. Why hadn't anyone told me they were coming?
I moved to my father and gave him a warm hug, then turned to my sister. I kissed her cheek, greeting her with a big smile before excitedly going to Bhabhi. She stared at me in stunned silence, and honestly, so did everyone else.
After exchanging pleasantries with Bhai, Bhabhi, and Sitara, I finally greeted Adved's parents, still trying to piece everything together in my mind.
Jiju, noticing my confusion, and teased
"Why are you wearing this?"
I chuckled nervously and said
"Ah, this is for Adved's photoshoot for his new campaign."
Everyone laughed softly, understanding now.
"Ohhh, that makes sense!" they said in unison.
Trisha came over and adjusted my veil, gently guiding me to sit. Sitara stood beside me, her tiny fingers playing with the fabric of my dress, looking absolutely adorable.
I turned to Trisha, still feeling puzzled.
"What's happening? Why is everyone here all of a sudden? I'm happy, but I don't understand why everyone's gathered. Where's Adved? I need to talk to him."
She smiled, breaking my rapid-fire questions.
"Calm down, darling. So many questions at once..."
Just then, Adved's mother, my mother-in-law came over and, with a gentle touch, applied a bit of kajal behind my ear, saying softly
"Kisi ki nazar na lage."
I hugged her back, grateful for the gesture, and just as I pulled away
Lakshya entered, announcing
"Aunty, Uncle, Bhaiya, Bhabhi, Didi, Jiju... Adved's calling you all outside."
I shot him a deadpan look, but he simply ignored it and smiled.
Frustration building up inside me, I dialed Adved's number, but he didn't pick up. Everything about this felt so wrong. I liked that everyone was here, everyone was dressed up, and they all seemed happy, but why couldn't I get a single answer from Adved? And now, he was ignoring my calls.
Trisha led me to another room, Sitara following her mother. Trisha, sensing my frustration, decided to lighten the mood by taking some pictures of me.
As I was trying to gather my thoughts, my phone buzzed, and I saw a message from Adved.
"I wanna see you right now, but not like this."
I furiously typed back in bold letters, making sure he knew just how upset I was.
"I DON'T WANT YOU TO SEE ME... WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE, ADVED???"
His reply was short and calm:
"Shhhhhh... You'll get to know soon."
I left the message on seen, unable to understand what was going on.
Minutes later, my father entered the room, looking dashing in a tuxedo, as handsome as always. I rushed to him and hugged him tightly.
"I missed you so much, Papa. Please, at least tell me what's happening here. Why did Adved call everyone outside? What is he planning?"
I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.
