💌 I know it’s been a long time since I last updated, and many of you may have lost interest in this novel.
During this time when I wasn’t posting any chapters, I really wanted to, but I was extremely busy and couldn’t find the time.
Adrija’s POV
Next Morning
I woke up to see the blanket completely tangled around us, as if it had conspired to keep us close. His arm was loosely wrapped around my waist, his warmth seeping into my skin. I turned slightly and looked at his beautiful, peaceful face so calm, so unaware of the storm of love inside me.
I smiled to myself and whispered softly
“I just love this person so much that I don’t even realise he is the best gift I ever received from God. And I will protect him from all the evil and ominous things around him. I love you, Adved. I love you so much.”
My fingers instinctively brushed his cheek, slow and careful, as if even my touch didn’t want to disturb his sleep. I leaned down and pecked his lotus lips lightly.
Once.
Then again.
I knew I should stop, I wanted to stop but my heart refused to listen.
Finally, with great effort, I pulled back, smiled at his sleeping form, and gently covered him properly before slipping out of the bed.
After finishing my morning stuff, I returned with my hair still wet.
Mischief sparkled in my eyes as I tilted my head slightly, letting a few cold water droplets fall from the ends of her hair onto his face.
He frowned, turned his face into the pillow, and snuggled deeper into it, making a soft babyish sound.
His mouth was slightly open, his lashes resting against his cheeks he looked soooo cuteee that my heart almost melted right there.
Unable to resist, I leaned closer and tickled him lightly behind his ear with the ends of my hair.
He shifted again.
With my other hand, I was just about to tickle the side of his neck when suddenly his hand shot up and grabbed my wrist.
I gasped softly.
Without opening his eyes fully, in that deep, husky voice that always did dangerous things to my heartbeat, he said
“Someone is in the mood?”
My breath hitched.
Trying to free my hand, I replied, pretending to be annoyed
“Yeah, in the mood to wake you up.”
He finally opened his eyes, amusement dancing in them.
A lazy smile curved his lips as he said
“Yeah, you did successfully but you woke something else too.”
The realisation hit me instantly.
A sudden rush of blood flooded my cheeks, my ears, my entire face. I quickly turned my gaze away, my heart racing wildly, betraying my calm act.
He noticed. Of course, he did.
His smile widened as he leaned a little closer and asked softly,
“Now what do we do about this?”
Barely above a whisper, shy and flustered, I replied
“Just stop… leave my hand and go to the bathroom. Otherwise, we’ll be late.”
He laughed low, warm, and teasing clearly enjoying the way I had turned into a complete red tomato. Slowly, deliberately, he released my hand, brushing his thumb lightly against my fingers before letting go.
“As you say madam” he said, his voice still laced with mischief.
I stood there for a second longer than necessary, heart pounding, cheeks burning, wondering how one man could make me feel so loved, so safe, and so undone all at once.
