As soon as I'd thought that I knew it wasn't true, someone was in my new den and I hated it. Wolves are very territorial, werewolves are even more so. My wolf begs me to phrase and tear them apart, I'm just about to do that when Maddie grabs my arm.
"Bailey?" Maddie says from behind me.
I turn around and put my finger to my mouth, telling her to stay silent. Which is very hard for her. I take a deep breath, trying to find a scent so I know where the person or people are.
"hey, I picked up a scent" I hear someone say from my right.
I make sure that the dogs are next to my sister then I hide in the shadows and wait for them to get closer. My targets move slowly, I can't tell how many of them are here but I will not go down without the biggest fight of my life.
"Wait!" I hear, my ears only just picking the whisper up.
They are wolves too I think, my mind tries to come up with a way to protect my pack. I've never had to fight werewolves before.
Their scents hit me and my thoughts are confirmed, their scents have the wild animal-ish scent that all werewolves have.
They come into view, four werewolves. I gasp slightly, I don't want to fight them but if they threaten my pack I won't have a choice.
Once they are near enough I step into the light, They step back with a look of surprise. Maddie comes up behind me. I push her behind so that they will have to go through me first, Maddie huffs but doesn't protest.
Staying behind me she asks "What do you want, why are you here?"
"We picked up werewolf scents and thought we needed to check it out" The biggest werewolf says.
I tense as he takes a step towards us, Jet growls and Ellie bares her teeth. I realise that our dogs are more like pack than me and Maddie thought.
"We don't want to fight you, we've come to help you" The same wolf says. I growl even louder and their eyes widen slightly, my wolf is so used to having it;s way that I shiver with the need to phrase.
"I'm Jace and these are Dominic, David and Aiden" Jace, the biggest wolf says pointing out the other wolves.
