Two days go by, Maddie's gone and my life seems so empty. I roam as a wolf, not wanting to deal with my human emotions.
I hate how Maddie could just leave like that, I wish I could have said something to her. I wonder around, looking for food but even the rabbits are skin and bones.
Suddenly I hear a howl from the edge of the woods, I don't know who it is but I go and check it out anyway. I run as fast as my starving body will take me, my ribs clearly show and I'm losing my black fur.
I get to the edge, Aiden stands in human form and I wait to hear what he has to say. He gasps as I show myself, I know it's because of my fur and body but I want to know what he wants. My body deteriorated so fast, it should be possible but some how it did.
I bark to make it known that I'm waiting. I sit down, the struggle of standing up makes my head bow slightly.
"Maddie wants to see you, she hasn't said a word to anyone since you left"He says.
I look at him like he has grown another ear, my sister left so she could talk to others and I don't understand what he means. The thought of her not talking to anyone makes me growl, she wanted to go.
"Just come to the house, you can leave as soon as you like" He says.
I just nod, maybe I need to see Maddie. My mind made up, I follow him, he jogs at a slow pace so I can keep up. My body tells me I need food, what's new? I ask myself.
"Nearly there" he says as we run down an empty street.
I bark, telling him that I understand. My legs are killing me but I grit my teeth and try to cope with the pain, knowing it will be over soon.
We come to a stop outside a white house, it's windows dangling off their hinges. I tense and sniff the air, hunters have been here.
I bark, Aiden looks at me with wide eyes and we slowly walk up the rocky path. My heart leaps into my throat, I knew I shouldn't have let her go with these people. No one can protect her like I can, I growl as my anger reaches it's peak.
