The other two hunters stare at their leader, then they turn their hatred on me. Five silver arrows fly from their weapons and head straight for me. I realise that I don't have time to dodge all of them. My mind races as I think about what I should do, I might be able to doge some but not all of them.
Maddie looks at me with fear for me, I make a spur of the moment decision and I jump. Two arrows hit me but I'm already Phrasing. The pain from the silver tears I growl from me and the hunter look with fear, don't piss off an alpha werewolf and think that you will live.
My wolf takes over, jet black fur covers my body and my joints pop as they move into the position of my wolf.
I hit the floor just as the phrase is done. I growl, the hunters fall back but don't run. I walk towards them with my teeth bared and my eyes filled with venom. My fur stands on edge as I wait of them to attack me, the silver in my system makes it hard for me to think but I know that if I don't react then me and Maddie will die.
"Let's go man, I don't want to feel them fangs" One of the hunters whines.
"Shut it!" The other growls.
Let the chase begin I think. The whiny one runs but I intercept him, his scream echo off the trees and his fellow hunter pales. My wolf rears it's head in satisfaction and we wait for the next to make his move.
I will him to run as well, it's best when they run. He shakes his head and backs away with his hands up. Maddie waits until he is gone before running to me then sobbing into my fur. I growl and step towards the way he went, Maddie holds me tighter and shake her head at me. My wolf huffs in annoyance and reminds me that he could come back and hurt us again.
"I was so scared, please never do that again" She begs as we walk home.
The silver from the arrows makes me slower than I would have liked but Maddie just stays next to me. The sun descends and soon the world is covered in darkness. I shiver from the cold and the silver, my mind becomes foggy as the silver reaches my heart.
"I need to get them arrows out" Maddie says after a while of walking in the dark.
I growl, the only time I will make a sound is in wolf form. She gently pulls me towards the big rocks that creates a protected area in the middle. My eyes dart around, making sure that it is still a safe place for us to stay at least for now.
I lay down and close my eyes while she works, the silver numbs everything but Maddie is a professional and helps get it all out.
