Part 1 / Chapter 1 / Scene 2
Establishing shot- Fly over of The Pentagon in Langley, Virginia.
[Text in the lower left corner of the screen- The Pentagon, Langley Virginia]
[Music: a spoof mash up in the style of Mission Impossible, James Bond, Jason Borne series]Zooming into and through various hallways and layers of the maze-like building commonly known as the Pentagon, until we arrive at imposing double doors of the Office of Director of National Security Investigations. A brief pause, and then we zoom in through the doors, rejoining the conversation where we left off in the last scene.
Mack: Can we please stop pussyfooting around and get down to business?
The two men quickly focused their attention on Macknally at that moment, expecting her to proceed with some kind of monologue, a dissertation, a briefing on the details of why exactly she was in their building... They stared at her with the awkward intensity of men who were overtly trying to avoid looking down, towards the seductive and dramatically plunging neckline of her most decidedly charming and unprofessional black silk blouse... which was being especially naughty with its floweyness at just that exact moment. She ignored them, and once again adjusted herself, and her flowey blouse, in what yet again must be described as borderline inappropriately naughty fashion. It was at this moment, in the perfect bell-curve of an unexpected pregnant pause, that the hitherto unnoticed second woman in the room finally decided to speak up.
Lana: [her voice abruptly breaking the prolonged silence] The Snyder Brothers... what the fuck happened to the Snyder brothers?
Everyone in the room was startled, even Macknally. Jerkins actually spilled his drink, he spun around so fast to look at her. The Director, having just taken a sip of his scotch, almost snorted some through his nose!
Jerk: Uh.. er... uh... excuse me... [giving Lana a blatant glaring look, and then turning back to the Director] ...who the fuck is she?
Mack: She is with me.
Jerk: Oh? She's your date? Your executive assistant? Sub-slave?
Dir: Jerkings!!!! What did i just say to you about your tone?
Jerk: No... I mean yes, Sir! [ he looks back at Lana, at Macknally, back at the Director] But seriously... who the fuck is that woman sitting in the corner...like some kind of stealth ninja stenographer taking notes in a room full of people who had no idea she'd been sitting there the whole time?
Dir: That... is Agent Lois Lana, of the French Canadian Secret Police.Jerk: [with a snarky sideways look at Macknally] That's not a very French sounding name... Nor Canadian for that matter!
Lana: [speaking up, with a strong tone of authority in her voice] And what kind of name is "Jerkins", Jerkins?Dir: Agent Macknally brought her in... It was actually her team's honey-pot operation that you so blindly stumbled into! Apparently the Snyder brothers were originally from Quebec, and had for many years served as espionage assets overseas on behalf of the FCSP before going rogue and subsequently turning up here in the states. Now, stop fidle-fadeling and finish briefing her on the situation.
Jerk: [clearing his throat] Well... As both of you know; but or friend in the sever, overly formal business jumper sitting in the corner does not seem to know- the Snyder brothers had been on the run after a massive spree of murders that spanning over three years and six different states. These brutal murders went entirely unsolved by local police agencies. [ turning to speak directly to Lana] And they would have continued to go unsolved if it wasn't for some solid investigative foot work by your's truly: Agent Jerkins.
Mack: Once he put two and two together, it still took his special task force nearly a year and a half to match them to the all crime scenes and track down their hide-out location.
Jerk: [bewildered, but continuing] They were holed up in a backwoods little town in Arizona, a state that they had never killed in. You see, they managed to avoid being apprehended for so long by never "working" in the same state twice. Never would all three of them ever be involved in the same murder, leaving one of them free to establish alibis in totally different regions of the country. While two of them covertly abducted and brutally murdered their victims, the third would set up shop somewhere thousands of miles away and masquerade as all three of them somehow.
Lana: Sneaky son's of bitches... That's genius! No wonder when ever we set up a lure, they seemed to pop-up thousands of miles away! The moment we relocated our opperation and set up shop, a victim would be discovered somewhere totally unrelated.Jerk: Sounds like your opp was three steps behind them.
Dir: Regardless... these three men have now given both of our agencies the slip!!! They've underground. All recent efforts to track them down have proven futile.
Lana Stands and approaches the Directors desk. Jerkins leans forward with urgency in his eyes, the two speak almost simultaneously...
Lana: I have some leads... Jerk: I have new sources...
Mack: [interrupting with force] Gentlemen... and lady. [she takes a moment to make piercing eye contact with everyone] This case is much bigger than any of you realize.
Jerkins & The Director look at her, then each other, then back at her. Lana literally places her face in her palm, and groans.
Mack: [interrupting with force] Gentlemen... and lady. [she takes a moment to make piercing eye contact with everyone] This case is much bigger than any of you realize.
