As you may have already gathered, Dear Readers, I do NOT follow very many of the more traditional paradigms of creative writing and the standard workflow of writing, at least not very directly, not very strictly speaking. It is not that I do not know the classic tropes of literature: The Hero's Journey, the ancient Archetypes, the classic Plot Structures and their variants. Trust me, there is nothing new under the sky... and I have been a student of Life and its many Arts for centuries. I am a well-practiced student of many Arts, and I know the struggle of endless hours of "practice" to learn and comprehend technique.

My advice for any of you just starting out- do the work. Hours and hours of work. If you're just starting out, hang in there... this craft will demand a lot from you. Not the least of which will be-  hours and hours of writing, endless writing, and editing, revising, re-writing. Over and over and over....

There is a reason why certain activities or professions are called "Practices".  It is because, no matter who you are, those callings will require, they will demand that you invest time and effort doing the fundamentals over and over again and learning from your failures and mistakes. Be strong, be bold in making your mistakes! Just own up to them. Fall big, and always pick yourself back up!

To adapt and modify a favorite inspiring quote by Terrance McKenna-
"There is no one so enlightened (or so perfect at their craft), that they do not need to keep working on themselves (or their practice)"

Now, I am not claiming to be a Master Craftsman by any means. I am still practicing my practice. I am just at a place where my practice, my writing process is... evolving.

My creative process is, by design, about experimenting beyond the norm, tinkering with the typical and the expected... I am setting out to explore the way that all these things interact with each other and with you, Dear Readers,  and what is rendered as the result of all those interactions. A collaborator of mine from a different lifetime once said- "Zeppo... you are in grave danger of becoming an alchemist, if you keep experimenting with creation in this fashion." It was the most flattering thing a fellow artist has ever said to me. Shame that he didn't live to see how much further I have pushed the boundaries of my experimentations. All of this... my books, my profile; it all may look a bit chaotic at times, but it is structured chaos, with a purpose... and a plan.

I have a map...

And Yes, there is a structure.
It may not be discernable, now... at this stage of the project. But it's there.

Every morning, after the usual routine and meditation, when I am good and ready... an image appears in the Theatre of my Imagination. This Theatre in my mind is the venue, the channel, the antenna and its screen, where I receive my inspiration from the Goddesses Muse.

They select what moments, what "scenes", what chapters, which books that I will spend the day working on, transcribing for the Goddesses, describing them to you. These gifts, these images; they do not arrive in any discernable order. They do not arrive in traditional Chapter sequence!

They arrive in tightly bundled, fractal fragments. Each precious gem is uniquely shaped. Each little jewel will only fit with their perfectly matching partners in the infinite fractal map of the world that I am "building" in service to the Muses.

It is a game we play, the Goddesses and I.

And we are inviting you to join us!

Help me solve the jigsaw puzzle in my head...

Become a puzzle piece in the grand meta-image yourself!

Sincerely,
MrZeppo

P.S.
There is an "Author's Note" down towards the end of the list of chapters for this book (and all my other books). This "Author's Note" represents to me, where the actual "End" of this book will eventually be.

Any and all Chapters placed after that "Author's Note" are basically there in a holding pattern, waiting for the right "spot" in the book where they belong to become clear. This will continue to occur... but over time, those odds and ends will work their way into the main flow of the books chapters. Just wanted to explain all of that that, to minimize confusion.

As always- your comments and suggestions, questions and critique are more than welcome!
