note: hellooooo! oh my gosh i have been going insane with the bts of john b getting arrested so here is me crashing out about that, i hope y'all enjoy! happy reading :)))

It all happened so fast. John B had finally gotten caught for selling the marijuana they had grown for some extra cash. It all started out as a small gig, only with a few acquaintances around town. Something to make them extra cash, something he was sure not to tell Sarah about. They needed money. John B had to provide for her, for them. Now, his plan had all come crashing down. He was being arrested, and all he could think about was Sarah. Her face flashed before him, and he couldn't shake the thought of her being in the dark about all of this. Everything he had got himself into. The shack, where he had ended up for the sale, was on the edge of the water, and had been surrounded by police. He was blocked in with cop cars and boats, opposite the building. "You guys don't understand." John B pleaded as they aggressively handled him, searching him as they walked to the police car. "Oh we understand John B. We understand perfectly. And you know better." Shoupe told him, shaking his head as he held John B's hands behind in back in handcuffs. "You are in a world of trouble." Shoupe told him, having a few other officers search John B as he opened the door. John B shook his head, he wanted to come up with a snarky response, fight this detainment, but all he felt was guilt. "Fuck." He muttered, shifting uncomfortably in the backseat as he tried to get comfortable with his hands behind his back. Sarah, he thought. What would she say? Tears pricked his eyes as he thought about his pregnant wife.

Sarah was out with Kie, they had been shopping for the gender reveal party set to take place in a week. "Look at this one." Sarah cooed as she looked at an adorable set of table decor, a matching boy and girl one, perfect for the party. "Awe." Kie mirrored, nodding as Sarah tossed it into their cart. She leant down to look at some different hanging decor when she felt her phone buzz. Slipping it out of her back pocket quickly, she glanced at the unfamiliar number, furrowing her brows as she debated on sliding to answer it. "Who's that?" Kie questioned, glancing between Sarah and her phone. "I don't know, should I answer it?" She questioned, raising her brows toward Kie. "Yeah, why not. It might be important?" Kie told her, looking at more decorations for the party and tossing them into their cart behind them. Sarah nodded, sliding her finger left to right to answer the call. "Hi?" She spoke slowly, cautiously easing into the conversation. "Hi Sarah, this is the Kildare County Police." Sarah immediately furrowed her brows, confused as to why they would be calling her on a Thursday evening. "Hi, um...is everything okay?" She asked, rushing the words out as she shot a worried look at Kie. Kie glanced over at her, furrowing her brows as to why she seemed upset. "John B..." The receptionist paused. Her face fell. She thought the worst, what had happened to him? A boating accident? A car accident? Most importantly, was he okay? "What's wrong with John B..." She started, catching Kie's attention quickly. "Is he-alright?" Sarah asked, managing to finish her sentence. She already felt the tears building up, threatening to spill out, but she held them back. "He's been arrested, and you are his emergency contact." A tear fell. "Arrested? Wh-what do you mean?" She rushed out, completely in the dark about what he could have done. "I need to see him." She told her definitively. "Uh..." The receptionist on the other line uttered out, but before she could finish, Sarah hung up the phone quickly. "Fuck." She whispered, placing her hand in front of her mouth as she shook her head. "What just happened?" Kie asked her, placing her hands on the edge of their shopping cart. "He got arrested." She uttered out, overwhelmed with shock and confusion as to what he'd done. "What the fuck did he do to get arrested?" Kie asked, shaking her head as she watched Sarah falter. "I have no clue, but I need to see him." She told her, not leaving any room for argument. Kie moved from the opposite side of the cart, making her way to Sarah's side. "Look Sar, do you think they'll even let you see him?" She asked, placing her arms on her shoulders, looking into her eyes and trying to look at the situation from a realistic standpoint.
