-Amanda's P.O.V-

I woke up and Jack was gone. It felt like a dream that he was here, but I knew he was because when I looked at my phone, I saw a picture of him as my lock screen. His jawline stuck out majorly but he looked so tired. I laughed to myself and kept it. I got up because it was 6 in the afternoon. I couldn't leave so I tried to find something productive to do.

(A/N: Lock screen is on the side)

I went to go text Brooke when I saw a new contact name. It said 'Gilinsky 😏👌🏽💦wow he really took my phone and did that. I decided to text him.

Me: Smooth.

Jack: I knew you would like it(;

Me: yes. Very cute.

Jack: we should do something tonight.

I can't really go out because I faked being sick and I already hung out with him.

Me: I can't, remember?

Jack: I know. I'll be over.

Me: what??

He never answered me. If I left the house, I would be in big trouble. And I didn't need that, especially with break coming up. I heard a knock from downstairs and I panicked. I tried to quietly run downstairs but my mom beat me to it.

Jack was standing at the door. My mom turned and gave me a confused look. "Hello Ms. Smith. I'm Jack."

"Hello Jack. Amanda is sick today, I'm sorry." She turned around and glared.

"Oh I know. If it's okay, I wanted to hang out with her so she didn't feel alone. I also brought her homework." He held up a stack of papers. She gave a little smile. I knew she wanted to beat me but then she did something I didn't expect.

"Come on in. I was just making dinner if you want to join." She smiled and he nodded. She went back to the kitchen and he walked up the stairs to my room. I turned around and followed him.

"So I wanted to see if your mom would let you at least go outside. This isn't your real homework, I just made some random papers."

"Thank goodness. I thought I had a lot." He shook his head and laughed.

"Where are we going?"

"Well it's just outside but I saw a little park. I set up a blanket so we could watch the stars." He smiled and I clapped. I've always loved doing this. But I haven't ever since my dad died. We used to do this, but hopefully I can recover by doing the things I love.

After dinner we went to the spot he found. He was right, the stars were out like crazy. We laid down and I looked up.

"Pick a star." He whispered.

"What? Why?" He looked at me for a couple seconds then back at the sky.

"Because you can have whatever star you want. Then that can be our star. And if we ever fight or are apart, we can find that star and be together again." He looked back at me and I stared at him. It slowly turned awkward. I quickly turned my attention to the sky and searched the stars.

I found the brightest one and pointed. "There."

He smiled and nodded "okay. That's our star. Just remember it okay? Don't forget it or me."

"I promise I won't forget about either one." I held out my pinky, and so did he.

At the same time we said. "Best friends forever."

We continued to look at the stars and try to make pictures. It didn't work as well as clouds, but it was just as special.  I loved our star. It felt special and all of the sudden I felt more connected to him. We haven't even known each other for that long but I felt so comfortable around him and I'm super uncomfortable around people.

I figured we should go home so we got up and folded the blanket. He went home and I did too. I got into my room and smiled like a doofus. This has been the happiest I've been in a while.
