Chapter 6

-Amanda's P.O.V-

The day after my breakdown, Jack invited me over. He was having the guys over and wanted me to hang with them too. I barely knew his other friends so I decided to go get to know them more.

I got ready and went downstairs. My mom was already making breakfast so I stayed for it.

"What are you doing today?"

"Well I was going to go over to Jacks with his friends, if it's okay."

"Yeah it's fine. Do you need a ride?" I nodded as I finished my breakfast. She grabbed her keys and followed me to the car.

I told her the address and when we got to his house, we both just sat in astonishment. His house was huge.

She finally spoke up "Okay well you know your curfew. Have fun sweetie." She kissed me on the cheek and I got out. I knocked on the door and I was welcomed by a laughing Gilinsky.

"Oh hey Amanda. Come on in." I followed him downstairs to see Sammy, Johnson and Nate. Those were his best friends, other than me of course.

"Hey" they all said.

"Hey." I repeated. I sat next to Jack and Johnson. I kind of felt uncomfortable around everyone.

They were playing video games, and it was the funniest thing ever. They yelled at the screen and would get so mad.

"Wanna play me?" Johnson asked.

"Yeah and I'll beat your ass at it" I winked and everyone said 'oooohhhh'

"You're on." I grabbed a controller and started to play. At first he was beating me, then I began to win. By the end of the round, I won. I stood up and did a little victory dance. Everyone laughed as Johnson pouted.

"You won't this time Amanda, but next time will be a different story." He gave an evil laugh and I just giggled. I was really good at video games, and I could beat anyone honestly.

We finally got up to go outside. The Jacks wanted to make some vines, so we did a few. They got the idea of running after an ice cream truck when it came by. Sammy, Nate and I just laughed our butts off behind them.

Then when it was dark out, we went inside to watch a scary movie. I loved scary movies but then I always get scared. I sat by the Jacks, again. They turned on the movie and we started to watch it.

I woke up and it was still dark in the room. I looked over and realized I had my head on Jacks shoulder. I slowly took out my phone so I wouldn't wake anybody. Shit! It was 3 am and my curfew is 12. I quickly got up and put on my shoes. I was going to be in huge trouble.

I started running home so my mom wouldn't have any more reasons to ground me.

I reached my house and the lights were off. I decided to go through my window. I safely got into my room and changed and got into my bed. Hopefully she didn't notice I was gone.

I was awoken by the screaming of my mom. "Amanda!! Get your ass down here now!" I haven't heard her this mad, so I got up and went downstairs. I guess she caught me.

"Why the hell were you home so late? I thought I told you to be home by 12?"

I looked down. I don't know how she caught me but I wasn't going to ask. That would make it worse. "I fell asleep because we watched a movie. I'm sorry mom." She was still mad at me.

"Amanda, you were over at a boys house and you expect me to believe you haven't done anything?" She tapped her foot and crossed her arms.

"I promise I didn't. I'm telling the truth."

She sighed and her face lightened a little bit "I didn't mean to yell but this isn't okay. If I let it go, you'll just do it again."

"I haven't done anything wrong and this is a one time thing. I didn't do anything and I fell asleep. I won't do it again." I could tell she was debating grounding me or not. I hope she wouldn't.

"I'll let this one slide, but if it happens again, you're gonna be grounded for longer than I was planning." I hugged her.

"Thank you. It won't happen again."
I went up to my room and texted Jack.

Me: sorry I had to leave last night. It was past my curfew and I just got chewed out for it.

Jack: it's okay. Are you grounded?

Me: no. She let it go.

Jack: good because there's a party I want you to go to with me. Sound cool?

I don't really go to parties but in the moment I said yes. After saying yes, I realized that it would be filled with drugs and alcohol. What did I get myself into?
