-Amanda's P.O.V-

Jack and I decided to stay friends. I could tell it hurt him, but I knew how he worked. He was the schools heartthrob and he messed with girls' hearts. I wasn't going to let someone mess with me like that. I do admit that I do like him but it's hard for me to admit my feelings or get so close to someone.

Jack asked to me get ice cream with him so I agreed and began to get ready. I just dressed casually and went downstairs.

"Hey sweetie. Date with Jack today?"

"It's not a date and we're hanging out at the ice cream shop down the street. Can I get a ride?"

"Yeah" she sighed and followed the same routine of going out to the car and driving me somewhere.

When I got there, Jack's face lit up "hey."

"Hey." I smiled back. I sat down in front of him.

"I have great news!" I looked at him waiting for it. "Johnson and I have decided to start making music together! We already have a thousand followers on vine and stuff so I think this could work." He sounded so happy which made me happy.

"That's great" I smiled "you sing?" He nodded.

"I usually don't sing in front of people but now you know. We have already finished a song. We have thought about this for a while and came up with some lyrics. It sounds really good."

"What's it called?"

"Cold Hearted. I'll bring you to our studio so you can listen." I clapped and he smiled big. I could tell he was really excited about this.

We ate ice cream and talked more about the duo career. Apparently Johnson would rap and Jack would sing. I didn't even know Johnson could rap, but I heard he's really good at it. Talking to Jack about this subject made him sound like a kid on Christmas. All I wish is that it doesn't change who he is back in Omaha and his friendship with everyone here. And I wished the most that he wouldn't forget me.

I wanted to help the most I can with anything. He said I could listen to their music and tell them if it sounded good. He said they have a song in the works but it wasn't finished. I couldn't wait to hear how they sound together. I mean they have the best friendship and they way they met is amazing, so all they need is the talent to fit into 2 perfect people.

"I can't wait to hear it."

"You could probably come by tomorrow and listen to Cold Hearted. And don't be light on us because we need all of the help we can get for a better song." He winked and I shook his hand. I could be mean about things, not that I was going to be.

The next day I was invited to the studio. I was so excited because I've never heard the Jacks sing or rap.

I got a ride to their house which had their recording studio. I walked in and they were beginning a song.

Girl I got you on my mind,
swear this happens every time.
What about our last fight?
Yeah I know it happened last night,
We can put that in the past right?
I'm just tryna live the fast life.

Then he began to sing the chorus and noticed I was here. He blushed and came out of the booth.

"I wasn't expecting you so soon but you heard that right?" I nodded.

He blushed and scratched the back of his head "how did it sound?"

"Amazing. You're such a great singer" I smiled and he clapped once.

"Thanks. You should hear Johnson rap though. It's pretty dope."

He looked back at Johnson "yo go a do the Distance rap." He stuck his thumb out and went into the booth. Jacks part just drifted off and Johnson began rapping. Wow not bad actually.

He was so into it but came out eventually. "That wasn't my fastest rap. I could freestyle if you want"

"Hell yes!" He laughed and started to randomly rap. He was so good at it for being only 18.

(A/N: I know Johnson isn't 18 anymore but he was)

Jack began singing the same song I heard earlier.

So what do we do now?
Everything we built we broke it.
It's all shattered and broken.
I can't get you outta my head.
It's all fallin' down
Time that we get goin'
Things you never told me,
I thought you were the one.

After the last line he looked down for a couple of seconds. He looked back up eventually and he grinned.

"I think we have our next song."
