Chapter 14

-Amanda's P.O.V-

Today was Jacks day off so we discussed to do something tonight. He was coming over and I didn't know what we would do.

Around 7:30 he came over as planned. He knocked on my door. I ran to get it and found him in nice tan khakis and a blue button up shirt. I tackled him and hugged him. He gave me a huge cheesy smile and squeezed me tight.

My mom showed up to the door and crossed her arms.

"Hello Jack. I'm guessing you haven't seen each other in a while" she laughed and I relaxed a little. I actually thought she was mad.

"Hello. How have you been?"

"Good. Busy but it's okay."

Jack walked back to the car and grabbed a few things "follow me"

I followed him into the backyard where we sat when we looked at the stars. He set down a blanket and set down a basket. A picnic at night? He sat down on the blanket and patted the open space next to him. I plopped down and he smiled at me.

"What?"

His face got brighter "you look beautiful."

Now my face was red "you look great too." He cupped my face. For a couple of seconds we just gazed into each other's eyes, then he kissed me. It felt like it did the first time. Every time he kissed me I felt the little fireworks exploded inside of me. Our kissing turned into making out until my mom came out side. We jumped towards her attention.

"Oh um I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm leaving for the dinner party now" I totally forgot about that. She was going out with friends tonight.

"Oh okay. Love you" she went back inside and Jack just gave me a little grin.

"What?"

"That was awkward"

"How?" I remembered how she saw us making out and we both burst out laughing.

He grabbed the basket and pulled out some plates "I cooked, just for you" he pulled out a bowl that had Macaroni and Cheese in it.

"Oh wow thank you" I tried not to die laughing. He made macaroni and cheese and was super proud of it.

"You're welcome" he sat confidently. I took a bite and it was actually really good. He winked at me because I guess my reaction was obvious.

"I knew you would like it" I playfully rolled my eyes.

"It's so pretty tonight" It wasn't too hot or too cold and it was almost dark. The sky was a pretty red mixed with an orange-yellow from the sun. It was a perfect setting for a perfect date.

"It is. I wish everyday was like this" I nodded. I actually wouldn't mind weather like this.

The sun finally went down and the stars came out. I immediately found our star and pointed it out.

"Hey there's our star!" I pointed like a child and he looked up. As he looked up, the stars fell into his eyes and my stomach did a flip. His eyes were a nice brown but tonight they looked brighter. I caught him off guard by grabbing his face and kissing him. I laid down next to him and rested my head on his chest. Nothing in the world right now could make me happier.

"I really missed you. It was a really long week without you" I turned my head to look at him.

"I missed you too. It wasn't any fun at all."

It grew silent again as we both smiled. The only sound was the little crickets and the small breeze. It doesn't seem like the perfect place and time, but it was.

I never wanted this night to end.
