Iris' POV:
"Can you tell me what happened?"

Iris didn't know what to say.

Everything just happened so fast. It was going alright, everything was going alright that night.

Was.

"I-It just h-happened." She stammered. "I-I was coming back with m-my boyfriend when the blast came from t-the gym."

"Where did you go, Iris?" The sheriff, Sheriff Jackson, asked.

"We were by t-the gardens." She answered.

He nods. "Thank you for your time. I'll leave you with your sister for now." He says. Iris nods and he stands up, walking to the door and leaving the room.

Hazel was unconsious, so was Allison, and Alec. Staring at her in the hospital room made her feel the worst. She wasn't with her that time. She wasn't there. It kept repeating over and over in her head.

She wasn't there.

-Flashback-
"Alec! Alec!" She screamed, running to him as he fell.

The gym was on fire. People were running and screaming out the doors and fire exits. Iris knealt down to Alec and moved his head to her lap.

"Alec, please wake up!" She cried. There was blood trickling down the side of his head.

Behind her, fire-trucks, ambulances and police cars were rushing in. The firemen were trying to hose down the fire inside.

The medical team people were starting to pull away Iris from Alec so the could put him on the ambulance.

"No- you have to let me come. I need to know if he's alright!" She says.

"Miss, I'm sorry. You'll have to wait."

"I'm his girlfriend for crying out loud!" She yells, but when she spots another body being brought.

"Oh God..."

She ran to the body to see if its really who she thinks she is.

"Mam, please step away." The woman bringing her says.

"No, I'm family. I'm her sister. Please let me come!" She says, crying desperately.

"I'll take her." Sheriff Jackson says behind her. She remembers him being close friends with her father. He puts a hand on her shoulder.

"C'mon Iris."
-end-

She couldn't believe what she was seeing before her. She was even praying it was a dream, a nightmare of some sort.

She reaches for her hand and holds it tightly. "Hazel, please wake up..." she says quietly.

She heard the door open behind her, but she didn't look back. Her eyes were on her sister, only her sister.

Footsteps were coming closer, and a seat was being dragged. It stops beside her and the person sits down.

"Iris..." he says beside her.

She looks to her side to see Nate. He places a hand on her shoulder.

"Get some rest. I'll stay and check on her." He tells her.

"No, you need more rest. I'll stay here." She says. Seeing his condition, the two cuts on his face and the IV still connected to him, she knew he needed to rest more.

He sighs, "Well, can I be alone with her for a while?" He asks her.

Iris purses her lips, but then nods after. She stands up silently and makes her way to the door. Closing the door shut, she makes her way to Alec's room.

Nate's POV:
As Iris stepped out of the room, Nate just sat there, staring at Hazel.
