Hazel's POV:

"Well, Ms. Bennet," the doctor, Dr. Reynolds, starts. "You had a mild concussion due to the blast and a few cuts on your head and arms."

"Do you remember anything from what happened?" The sheriff asks.

"All I remember was we were at school for prom..." she says. She couldn't get a clear picture of what's going on, and she was confused of what was happening. "Can someone tell me what's actually going on?" She asks. "How exactly did I end up here?"

Dr. Reynolds and the sheriff shared a look and the doctor stands. "I'll leave the sheriff here to talk to you about it." He says, before leaving the room.

They hear the click of the door shut and Nate, who was beside her, held her hand.

"Alright, Hazel, here's what happened." He starts.

"You were right about being at prom. You and your sister's group all went." He tells her.

"But it was two days ago. You were out for a day-"

"Wait, what?" She was puzzled. "How could that two days ago? How did I get in the hospital?" She stressed out, her grip on Nate hardening a bit.

"I was getting to that. You made me cut my point." He says. "It was from a bomb the school wasn't aware of. Due to our investigations, it came from one of the speakers. Hidden, I suppose."

Hazel slouched down her bed. "Who would possibly want to bomb a school?" She wonders out loud.

"That's what we're all wondering about." He sighs. "We're still looking into that."

"Everything's gonna be alright, Hazel." Nate tells her, rubbing circles at the back of her hand.

She nods and the sheriff turns around to leave.

"Oh and one more thing..." he says, turning back around to her.

"Nate, you might want to tell your girlfriend she had high alcohol levels that day." He says casually, then leaves shutting the door.

"I was drunk?" She asks. "I don't even drink!"

"Hazel, it wasn't your fault." He calms her down. "Someone spiked the punch and we didn't know about it." He explains.

"When I find out he is so going to jail." She murmurs.

"I bet Iris' already planning his funeral." He adds.

"He should get ready." She says, burying the back of her head on the pillow, until a knock comes from the door.

"I'll get it." He says.

"M'kay."

Nate stands up and walks towards the door, though when he opens it he gets a big surprise.

"Mrs. Bennet?"

"And Mr." Hazel and Iris' dad, Thomas Bennet, adds.

They went in and Hazel couldn't believe her eyes.

"Mom?"

Iris' POV:
Iris fell asleep on a chair at the edge of Alec's bed.

"Hey, sleepy head, wake up." He gently shakes her. Startled she slowly unburies her head from her arms. Seeing Alec already up and giving her a faint smile.

"Hey there." She smiles back. "How was your sleep?"

"Alright, alright." He tells her. "Though I have to leave right after I check out the hospital."

Iris frowns. "So soon?" She asks. "You only got here."

"I know. But, duty calls there. I'm gonna have a lot of paperwork by now." He sighs. "I'll make time for you, don't worry."
