I just finished giving my presentation in class. Phew. I hate public speaking, but at least I got it over with, and I'm pretty sure I got a good grade on my project. Everyone clapped when I was done--well mostly everyone--and I went back to my seat in the front of the class.
"Thank you very much Joy, next up is Junhong's presentation." Ms. Ahn called from her sheet. Everyone turned their head to Choi Junhong who didn't move an inch. He was just sitting in his desk with his arms folded across his chest and an intimidating glare in his eyes.
"I don't have it." He said.
At that moment, all of the students held their breath and faced forward.
"What was that, Choi Junhong?" Oh how I wish Ms. Ahn didn't say that.
"I said I don't have it." Junhong repeated, this time more slowly, which sounded even scarier.
"You know Junhong, this is the 3rd time you came to class unprepared and without the work that I've assigned. I know you're still a little new to this school but you're already failing this class. It's a shame too because---"
"Just shut up."
"Excuse me? You do not talk to a teacher that way. Just because you're a new student does not mean that I will go easy on you." Ms. Ahn started writing a little note on her clipboard, "You will be serving detention after school for one hour today because of your inappropriate behavior."
I heard a chair screech on the floor and some people gasping. I didn't know exactly what was going on because I didn't dare to look back and face that boy, but suddenly I didn't have to turn back to see him. He was already making his way to the front of the class and faced the teacher.
"Didn't I already tell you to shut up?!" My eyes widened as I watched Junhong grab the clipboard from Ms. Ahn and throw it to the ground. Ms. Ahn flinched and didn't dare to say anything else. He grabbed the glass of water that was sitting on the teacher's desk and threw it onto the chalkboard. The class was completely silent as we all watched Junhong storm out of the classroom, slamming the door behind him.
