At 7:20 sharp, the chiming of bells alarmed from Joy's cellphone. She bobbed her head up without realizing that Junhong's chin was right above her.
"Ugh." He brought one hand to his face and rubbed under his chin.
Joy look up and puffed her cheeks as Junhong met her eyes. His other hand was still on the small of her back and their bodies were still close together.
"Good morning." Joy pulled away and stood up.
Junhong ruffled his hair and scouted the room, "Where's my phone?" He saw his phone by the door and picked it up. There was a crack on the screen. Unconsciously, his eyes glared in Joy's direction.
"I'm sorry about everything last night." She voiced. "I woke you up, I'm pretty sure I was the one who broke your phone, and I made you sleep with me." She felt like that sounded strange coming out of her mouth.
He let out a long exhale and rubbed the nape of his neck, "Well do you at least feel better now?"
"Yes." Joy admitted, "I forgot to take my toy giraffe from home and I usually sleep with that every night so thanks for letting me hold you."
"Yeah, that's alright..." Junhong kicked the air, "Can we just get ready for school now."
[Joy's POV]
Walking onto campus, I kept stealing glances at Junhong. My heart beated harder against the inside of my chest every time I looked at him. I can't believe I actually asked to sleep with him last night. Way to make things awkward between us. Well I couldn't tell if he felt weird because he seemed to be acting normal this morning.
I didn't realize that I slowed the pace of my walk and Junhong was already a few steps ahead of me. "Oh, hold on," I jogged towards him and gripped his hand. He looked down at our clasped hands and I retracted quickly. I am not being smooth at all today.
In school, Junhong and I separated and to be honest I was glad. Ever since I woke up this morning, knowing that he comforted me all night, I started feeling...well the way I used to feel when I was with Jota. When I used to like him. I shook my head, trying to get the notions out of my mind because I did not want to be feeling this way right now. Nope. Nope. Nope.
"Hey." A voice said next to me. Oh great.
"Hi Jota." I looked at my shoes.
"Are you busy after school?"
"After school?" I repeated. "Well no...but...I don't know. Why?"
"Well just because I miss you. Just because we took a break doesn't mean we have to forget about each other's existence."
"Well...that's true." I said softly.
"So, after school?" He smiled sweetly.
"O-okay?" We are still just friends. Even though I still feel resentment towards him, but he was right. I couldn't act like he doesn't exist.

At lunch I passed by Junhong sitting in his usual spot. "Hey." I said nervously. Wait stop acting nervous. Stop it.
"What's up?" He rested his head on his hand.
"After school, I'm kind of going to hang out with Jota." I waited for his reply which turned out to be an "ugh."
"Yeah sure, I can't tell you who not to hang out with." It's not as if I was looking for his permission, but I do ride home with him everyday and I needed to tell him that I had other plans.
"Whatever is going on between Jota and I is between us. And you don't have to ask my permission if you want to hang out with someone."
