Chapter 14

"Morning baby face." I felt an arm wrap around my lower back as I walked up the school steps.

I gasped into a smile when I saw Jota standing next to me. "Good morning. How are you?"

"I'm fine, except," He jutted out his lower lip and looked at me with puppy dog eyes, "I tried calling my girlfriend last night, but she didn't answer any of my calls or texts."

"Oh yeahhh I'm sorry. I turned my phone off last night so I could finish homework. Did you need to tell me something important?" I asked guiltily

"I just wanted to hear my girlfriend's voice before I go to sleep. But I guess it wasn't anything important." He said sarcastically.

I hit his chest and the bell for first period rang. "Are you sure you've never had a girlfriend before? It seems like you've practiced these cheesy lines or something."

"You're my first." He bumped his shoulder to mine and students around us hurried to get to first period.

"Let's get to class," I headed down the hall towards our classroom, but felt Jota tugging me in the opposite direction. "What are you doing?"

"Just follow me." Jota said as he continued leading me to who knows where. He brought me under the stair well in the silent corridor. The halls were empty since everyone else was already in class except for hall monitor. Jota and I hid in the corner and he put his finger up to his lips, signaling me to stay quiet until the hall monitor passed us.

"Jota what are we doing? I don't want to skip class." I whispered.

"We're not gonna skip class. We're just gonna be a little bit late." He tapped my bottom lip teasingly before pulling me into a kiss.

I clutched onto the bottom of my skirt because I didn't expect him to do something so sudden like that. This is only the third time Jota and I have kissed, the third time I've kissed anyone in fact, and I still didn't know what to do or how to do this. I think Jota could tell that I was a little nervous because he grabbed my tensed hands and placed them around his neck.

From around the corner, I could hear a few teachers walking and they seemed like they were getting close to where we were. I bit down on Jota's lip by accident and I pushed him away from me, if teachers were gonna pass by us, I did not want to be caught in that position.

Fortunately for us, they walked into a classroom and didn't even come in our direction. I breathed out in relief and then turned to Jota. He rubbed his lips and mumbled "ouch."

"Let's get to class." He took my hand and we were finally headed to our first class. We stood in front of the door and I was about to reach for the doorknob, then retracted my hand.

"I'm sorry for biting your lip. I didn't mean to do it so hard, well I didn't mean to do it at all. I was just scared because I thought we were going to get caught for not being class."

"It's fine, I thought it was kinda hot anyway." Jota admitted which made my eyes widen. "Maybe we should be late to class every morning."

I was surprised at how casual Jota was being when he said things like that. Personally, I think it would take me a few more days to get used to being a couple. I felt my cheeks burn again and Jota noticed because he pointed them out, "I'm sorry, am I saying weird things again?"

"Y-yeah k-kind of. Alright. Let's go inside now."

"Wait. Before you open the door, I wanted to do one more thing." Jota brought me closer to him again and kissed me. I wanted to hit him for acting so reckless but at the same time I just wanted to continue.
