Everything's moving so slow, but fast at the same time. We aren't talking much on the way home. I know I haven't known her for a while but I've never seen Z this mad before.

We were two blocks away from home and she jumped out of the cab in the middle of traffic. I had to run a block just to catch her.

I don't know if Marley's home yet but I really hope she's not. I have the worst feeling tonight's gonna get uglier. Maybe I can calm her down, she's walking so fast I'm barely keeping up. She attempted to cross the street but the light changed.

"Dammit." She throws her head back.

I finally managed to catch up. "Just give it a minute." I pat her shoulder catching my breath. "Why are you panting?" She asks.

I can't help but show my frustration. "We basically ran the last block and a half." She turns and looks behind us.

"Listen I don't know what is going on with you, Mars and Vicky. But can we please table it for later." I see her spinning a rebuttal. I was about to continue before she cut me off.

"I CAN'T!" Her eyebrows furrow and the red street lights signify her anger.

She whips her head around waiting for the crosswalk sign to change.

I'm speechless. I understand how she feels but this day is already going to be miserably memorable. Why add fuel to the fire?

"Sweets?" I sigh in frustration. "It's only gonna make it worse." She relaxes a little, closing her eyes. I grab her hand and pull her closer. She staggers for a step but eventually gives in. I wrap my arms around her.

"I'm sure there is a logical explanation on why she's known about your dad." I rub her back in comfort.

"Please don't say that." She shakes her head.

"He's not my...anything, just a blank space, a blip in life, something no one will remember." She tenses up and when the crosswalk changes she lets go and starts walking.

For the first time in a while it hurts to swallow, it feels like there's a rock in my stomach.

Zuri knows more than Mars thinks she does, and with all that information she has a lot of questions and they may not come out too nice.
