Hey, rare babes, welcome to the new year :3

5:00 am

The next day.

Marley

Last night I barely slept,  trying to find a way to improve this situation. I settled on making breakfast; who could resist French toast and berries? They're her favorite, and a meal before class can be helpful.

I thought Roman would be up, but it seems last night was too much for all of us.

I blame myself for it. I should've never acted like me, and Vicky is just a rival ballet frenemy. I had feelings for her that she sometimes took for granted, but she...I don't know.

I need her to understand how much Zuri means to me. She's my best friend; she'll regret hurting her. I swear I'm done with her shenanigans.

Roman

I finally got to sleep.

Yesterday seemed like a dream. It was so much harder than I expected.

Understanding Marley's meltdown and hearing some heartbreaking news about her and Z.

To find out that Vicky dated Marley and Z secretly knew the whole time, and that's why Vicky hates her so much.

I still don't see why she's trying to butt in on Sweets and me, though. Zuri never liked Marley, so why is she still so mad?

The thought eats at me till I open my eyes. I can't pretend to sleep any longer.

I was startled to see she was so close. The morning sun makes her glow a dark bronze, and her curly afro covers her eyes. She's otherworldly.

I could've stared at her all day, but her alarm clock had different ideas. Her brows furrowed, and she took a deep breath before she opened her eyes. As soon as she saw me, she closed them shut, stuffing her face in the pillow.

"You were watching me sleep?" She peeks through her hands.

"I couldn't help myself, you are out of this world, Ms. Rhodes." Her hands fall, and she sits up, giving me a peck on the lips.

I feel my cheeks warm, and she giggles at the sight.

"Come on, we're gonna be late." She pulls the covers back and turns the alarm off. I roll over on my back, taking a deep breath.

We didn't do anything but cuddle and sleep last night. I wouldn't want it any other way. I hurry to the hallway bathroom to take a shower. We did wake up unusually late, and I didn't hear Marley in the living room all morning; she must've left earlier.

A few minutes past and I'm tying my laces and walking out of my room.

I find sweets in the kitchen, eating berries.

"Marley made breakfast, I guess. You hungry?" She smiles, handing me a bowl of basically all berries. I grab a Ziploc and put all the berries in, handing them back to her.

"Come one it's already 7." We hurry out the door.
