The grand hall was in pieces. The air still buzzed with magic, smoke curling from cracked tiles, and broken chandeliers swinging with the leftover momentum of battle.

But no one moved toward the exit.

Everyone's eyes were locked on him.

Donghyuck.

Still panting. Still holding the tiny dragon that had once been Maleficent. Still glowing faintly like stardust wrapped itself around him and refused to let go.

And then—
A roar.

But not from a dragon.

From a Beast.

Adam, king of Auradon, surged forward, eyes blazing, mane practically puffed, teeth clenched so tight it could’ve shattered royal jewels.

“JUNGWOO.” His voice slammed against the stone like a tidal wave.

The hall went dead silent.

“You dare invade my kingdom,” Adam seethed, stalking toward the boy who stood awkward and trapped between two guards, “assault the High Fairy, steal the wand, unleash a threat to all of Auradon... at my son’s coronation?!”

Jungwoo flinched, trying to look defiant but shaking. “I—I was only doing what she asked—”

Adam cut him off with a guttural growl. “You will speak only when spoken to.” He turned to Belle, whose hands were clenched tightly in front of her. She looked heartbroken.

“I want him banished,” Adam barked.

“Wait,” Fairy Godmother interrupted, limping forward, wand now back in his hand and his hair totally lopsided. “Let him serve his punishment where he can’t cause further chaos. We’ll bind his powers. Make him work in the castle kitchens until he remembers what humility is.”

Adam gave one last guttural huff before nodding.

“Fine. But if he so much as breathes wrong—he answers to me.”

Jungwoo paled. “Not the kitchens.”

Chenle, under his breath: “Honestly? Best place for a dramatic little soup-stirrer like you.”

---

Meanwhile, the real king of the moment was getting absolutely swarmed.

Jeno had jumped on Hyuck’s back (despite the dude being visibly exhausted), clapping him on the shoulders.

“BRO. You were freaking majestic. I swear I saw a dove fly past your head in slow motion.”

Jaemin: “That was fire. LITERAL fire. And your wings? Immaculate. Like—do they come out whenever you’re emotionally overwhelmed or just when your mom shows up with pyrotechnics?”

Chenle: “Can you do flips? Do you lay eggs? I have questions.”

Hyuck blinked, still holding the tiny Maleficent.

“I—I just fought my mother.”

Jaemin patted his shoulder. “Yeah, and you bodied her.”

“You turned her into a fun-sized dragon,” Jeno added, peering at the little Maleficent who looked like she’d bite his finger off if given half a chance.

Jisung timidly stepped up from the group, eyes wide. “So... when you said you had ‘mom issues,’ you meant like that.”

Hyuck nodded slowly. “Yup.”

Chenle turned to the rest of the group. “Raise your hand if you’re still processing.”

Everyone raised their hands.

---

Mark, meanwhile, had his arms wrapped around Hyuck’s waist, pressing little kisses to his shoulder in between everyone’s teasing.

“You were beautiful,” he whispered into his neck. “You saved everyone. You saved me.”

Hyuck chuckled, leaning back into him with a tired sigh. “Well, I couldn’t let my boyfriend’s coronation get crashed.”

“You literally outshined the royal crown,” Mark said with a dumb, dreamy grin.

Jaemin loudly: “SOME of us haven’t had romantic trauma today, so if you two could tone down the sap—”

“—Shut up, Jaem,” Chenle groaned, though he also looked fondly at them.

---

Belle finally stepped forward, looking at Donghyuck with soft, glistening eyes. “Thank you,” she said, voice gentle. “You protected our kingdom when you could’ve run. I know you didn’t have to. But you chose to be better.”

Donghyuck stared at her, stunned.

Then gave a small, slow nod.

“I didn’t do it for the kingdom,” he said honestly. “I did it... for the people I love.”

Jeno clutched his chest like he was being personally attacked.

“Oh no. He’s got the emotional high ground too.”

---

Mark stepped up again, looking at everyone gathered.

“Alright,” he said, “the coronation will resume tomorrow. And I will make my official declaration then.”

Jisung raised an eyebrow. “Declaration?”

Mark smiled. “That the four from the Isle... are staying here. For good. This is your home now.”

More gasps. Happy ones this time.

Hyuck turned, his heart squeezing as Jisung and Jeno grinned, Jaemin almost tearing up, and Chenle just whispered, “Finally.”

---

Someone from the back—probably Jaemin—called out:

“OKAY BUT LIKE... I’m still hungry. Can we eat now?!”

Cue laughter.

Cue applause.

Cue the kingdom finally beginning to feel whole again.
