Something ticklish brushed Donghyuck's cheek.
He groaned softly, scrunching his nose as his lashes fluttered open.
The first thing he saw was Mark — eyes filled with adoration, lips leaving warm kisses wherever skin peeked through the blanket.

Hyuck (sleepy giggle): "What are you doing?"

Mark (smiling like he was born to love him):
"I got hungry... Thought I’d wake you gently. Didn’t wanna risk you being mad at me for waking you."

Hyuck: "Mission accomplished, my prince. I’ve never woken up happier."

He melted into Mark’s chest, arms wrapping around him like the final piece of a puzzle falling into place. Breathing him in. Smiling into the soft fabric of his shirt.

Mark (chuckling): "Baby... I am really hungry though. I ordered breakfast. Should be here in, like, five minutes."

Hyuck (muffled): "What time even is it?"
He stretched with a groan, blinking the sleep away.

Mark: "Almost noon. Eleven forty-seven to be exact."

Hyuck (wide-eyed): "WHAT?!"

Mark couldn't help but laugh at the shocked expression, sitting up beside him and locking eyes.

Mark:
"When Jeno and Jaemin left, it was around 3 AM. We cuddled for half an hour without saying a word. You fell asleep hard — probably drained from that nightmare.
I’ve been awake for about an hour now. I didn’t wanna wake you... Not until my stomach practically declared war. But when that didn’t do the trick, I took the opportunity to kiss you everywhere I could reach. And hey — you woke up. Win-win."

He smiled so tenderly, Donghyuck felt himself unravel and bloom all at once.

Hyuck: "You’re too sweet for me."

Mark: "I don’t care. I’m just loving out loud. Every minute with you is a blessing."

Hyuck: "I love every second I spend with you."

Mark: "Every millisecond."

Hyuck: "Every microsecond."

Mark: "Damn. You win."

They giggled, leaning into each other, hearts full and morning slow.
Love swirled in the air like sunlight through the curtains.

Then — a knock at the door.
Mark’s eyes widened, a grin creeping up his face.

Mark: "Food!"

He practically skipped to the door... but the smile vanished the moment it opened.

Standing there was Jungwoo — eyes rimmed red, voice shaking.

Jungwoo: "Mark... I wish you’d want me back."

The name tasted bitter on Mark’s tongue. It didn’t belong in this room, not on this day, not between them.

Mark:
"Jungwoo, you’re out of line. Coming here to say that? We were never together. I’m not getting back with you."

Jungwoo (desperate): "But I love you!"

From the bed, Donghyuck heard every word.
His jaw tightened. His heart didn’t drop — it flared.

He walked over, arms looping around Mark from behind, chin resting on his shoulder. His presence was calm, but his words had teeth.

Hyuck:
"What’s the problem here?"

Mark leaned into his touch, glancing at him with soft gratitude.

Mark: "I’m sure you heard."

Hyuck:
"I did. That’s why I’m standing here, with my arms around my man, wondering who’s foolish enough to confess to someone who’s clearly taken."

Mark (firm):
"Jungwoo. Leave. Let it go."

Jungwoo (spitting the words): "You’ll regret choosing him over me!"
He stormed off down the corridor.

Mark didn’t even flinch — because at that moment, someone far more important was walking up the hallway: the breakfast delivery.

Mark (relieved):
"Do you know how hard it was not to snap at him? I’m starving. You stepping in saved me from unleashing royal wrath. I love you.
Now please, before I lash out at you just from hunger — let’s eat."

Hyuck (grinning): "Okay, Markie. Food first."

Mark:
"Then we’ll meet the guys. I need to run them through the coronation plan. After that, I’m spending time with Jisung — one-on-one, like I promised. I already have the perfect place in mind."

Hyuck: "You really are the sweetest."

Mark: "And so are you. My beautiful baby."

Hyuck: "My handsome prince."
