The group gathered in Vic's lab, the hum of half-finished gadgets filling the room. Jake, Y/N, Amy, Eva, and Colby stood in a semi-circle, all slightly wary. Vic's eyes gleamed with that familiar mix of mischief and genius.
"I'm sure you're all wondering why I've gathered you here," Vic began, twirling a screwdriver absentmindedly.
"Nah," Jake cut in immediately. "We just assume you want to show off another one of your half-baked creations. So we're just gonna smile and nod a lot to speed things up."
Vic chuckled. "Glad you know your place in this household." He turned to Colby. "Now, Colby... I know your last Flash form helmet didn't exactly... work out."
"'Didn't work out'?!" Colby barked. "I have a permanent ring around my neck from where it cut off oxygen to my brain! Let's be honest—how much oxygen was really getting up there, huh?"
Vic waved him off. "Details, details. Anyway, I made you a new one!"
Y/N leaned forward, skeptical. "Why do you even need a helmet?"
"Because you're a newbie, and you need added protection," Vic replied, holding up the sleek, glimmering helmet. "Which is why this one has X-ray vision, force-field activation, and—" a loud beep sounded, making everyone jump "—a back-up cam!"
Jake groaned. "Got one of those for Mom's car yet?"
Vic scowled. "You back into three hot dog stands, and suddenly, you're a bad driver!"
Colby eyed the helmet warily. "Wait... what's this back-up cam do?"
Vic tapped a button. "It's connected to a Teleportation Module I need to transfer from your old helmet. If you're ever in trouble, you just push the button, and it teleports you straight back to the lair."
Y/N's eyes widened. "Hold up. So... anyone wearing that helmet could just push that button and end up in the lair?"
Vic nodded. "Yep. And why are you asking questions? Shouldn't you be smiling and nodding?"
Colby sighed and went to grab his old helmet. "I'll get the tools ready for the transfer. What are we gonna do about Milo?"
Vic's grin turned sly. "We gave Colby's old helmet to that kid Milo so he wouldn't tell anyone about the lair."
Y/N's jaw dropped. "Wait. You gave the Flash form helmet to a kid at school? And at any moment, he could teleport into our lair? Oh... that's delightful!"
Vic laughed. "I never told your father. He'd freak if he knew Milo had been in the lair."
Jake ran a hand through his hair. "Okay... so he's gonna be back any minute. What are we gonna tell him?"
"I'll stall your father," Vic said simply. "You three—go find Milo and get that helmet back."
Y/N crossed her arms. "Wait... aren't you gonna help?"
"Nope!" Vic said firmly. "Nope, nope, nope. This is a team-building exercise."
Eva groaned, shaking her head as she moved closer to Y/N and Amy. "You're doing what? This is insane. I am not helping you kids chase down a teleporting helmet."
Amy looked between them. "Eva... come on, it's not that bad. We just have to be fast and clever."
Eva shook her head, folding her arms. "Nope. Not happening. I've got enough on my plate keeping you all alive without adding Milo and teleporting helmets to the mix."
Y/N rolled her eyes but smiled. "Fine, then we'll do it ourselves."
Colby put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry. We'll get it. And nothing's gonna happen that we can't handle together."
