The sun was dipping low behind the trees, painting streaks of gold across the neighborhood as Y/N, Amy, Colby, and Jake trailed behind Vic and Eva, their minds still reeling from the revelation.

"I still can't believe Dad was a superhero," Y/N finally blurted, her voice a mixture of awe and disbelief.

"Why? 'Cause I'm such an uber-cool, rebellious villain?" Colby joked, trying to lighten the mood.

"No," Jake said, eyes wide. "Because... you have, like, no muscle tone. Did it ever occur to you that maybe the superheroes took that away along with my power?"

Colby groaned dramatically. "Well, did they? I can't believe you sacrificed your only power just to be with Mom. What were you thinking?"

"No offense," Vic said casually.

"Oh, none taken," Colby shrugged. "Besides, I already got my revenge when I made your breakfast."

"That's not sausage!" Y/N protested, laughing.

"Wait—he didn't have the sausage?" Jake asked.

"I did," Vic said with a small grin.

"Oh, right. Well, good news, Jake," Y/N said. "You're in the clear. She messed with your food. That means you're family."

Vic scoffed, rubbing his chin. "I thought superheroes were supposed to be good. How could your family make you choose between them and the woman you love?"

"I'm sure Mrs. Madden's family accepted you," Hartley added.

"Nope," Vic said flatly. "They wanted to destroy him. But he's just really good at hiding."

"Yeah, with those muscles, he could hide between two couch cushions," Jake quipped.

"This completely changes who we are," Y/N said, shaking her head in disbelief. "I mean, we have superhero blood running through our veins."

Vic chuckled softly. "I know. That's why I was just doing an online search for 'Can I live without blood?'"

"Wait—what?" Amy exclaimed, eyes wide.

"It's gonna get messy, but it's the right thing to do," Vic said, shrugging. "Look, I felt terrible about keeping it a secret, which is why I did the noble thing and told the truth."

"No, you didn't," Eva cut in sharply. "He outed you. And now I'm doing the villain thing by lying."

Colby leaned forward, curious. "Okay... but what exactly was this power you sacrificed?"

Vic's eyes gleamed with a mix of nostalgia and pride. "Well... let's just say that when I used it, things got really hot."

"Ew, Mom!" Y/N groaned. "Boundaries!"

"No, she actually means hot," Vic said, deadpan. "I was a human flamethrower. I could shoot fire from my hands... and a few other places I won't go into."

Jake whistled. "That's... insane."

"Does it ever bother you that we all have powers and you don't?" Amy asked cautiously, blowing a raspberry in frustration.

"All the time," Vic admitted. "I'm like... what did these goofballs do to deserve a power more than me?"

"Oh, you were asking him?" Colby teased.

"Sure," Vic shrugged. "There are times I miss having a power. But does it bother me? Sure. It bothers him."

"You're darn right it does," Eva added, folding her arms. "But if I really wanted it back, I could just take my brother up on his offer."
