The living room buzzed with energy, everyone clustered around, half-excited, half-curious. Y/N was sitting cross-legged on the couch, still fiddling with the last stubborn strand of her blonde hair caught behind her ear. Colby, leaning against the armrest beside her, gave an exasperated sigh.

"Guys, I have amazing news," Colby announced, grinning from ear to ear.

"-Your hair," Y/N teased, finally looking up at him.

"No," Colby shot back, glaring playfully. "That's just the result of one of Dad's experiments gone wrong. It should be back to normal in about an hour. Right, Dad?"

"Sure," Vic said with a chuckle. "The important thing is now we know that a child's head can withstand a lightning bolt."

"Guys, I have amazing news," Colby repeated, ignoring her jab.

"-Me too," Y/N said, pointing at herself.

"-Your hair," Amy added with a teasing grin.

"It's not my hair," Y/N corrected, rolling her eyes.

Colby waved them off. "Anyways, Mary Stephens is coming to town this weekend."

"No way," Hartley gasped.

"Yes!" Colby nodded, clearly thrilled.

"-The Mary Stephens?" Eva asked, squinting in confusion.

-Yes!" Colby confirmed.

"I have no idea who that is," Vic admitted.

"Me neither," Amy said.

"She's only the founder of the very first Sunshine Club," Hartley said, her voice taking on an almost reverent tone. "Too bad she wasn't the very last. Every year, Mary does a nationwide search for Sunshine Club President of the Year. And this year, I'm one of the top three finalists."

"Take that, Linda Shermahorn of Chapter 247," Y/N  added with a triumphant grin.

"-Okay, time for my news," Colby said, trying to chime in.

"-In a minute, blondie," Y/N  interrupted, pointing a finger at her.

"I've tried every year to be nominated for this award," Hartley continued, "but being top three isn't good enough. I have to win. So I'm going to make her visit to Valley View absolutely perfect."

Vic rolled her eyes but smiled faintly. "Aw, I wish I could get excited about something so simple. But, you know, super computer brain. It's a real burden."

Colby smirked. "Seriously? This morning, you squealed and clapped your hands at a donut."

Jake, who had been quietly observing, grinned. "What have I told you about spying on Daddy during donut time?"

"Okay, that's it," Colby said, holding up a hand. "I'm telling my news. The Chosen One has a new power. Transference. It's pretty cool. Check it out."

"Colby, give me invisibility," Y/N challenged, holding out her fist.

"Why, gladly, old man," Colby said, returning her fist-bump.

"Whoa," Amy gasped. "No way."

"All I have to do," Colby explained, "is think of one of my powers, then fist-bump it to whoever I want. Then to get it back, the person just fist-bumps me. Glad that worked. I did not know where my fist was."

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! I want one," Hartley squealed, bouncing in place.

"Um, give me kinetic manipulation," Amy demanded, pointing at Colby.

Whirring sounds filled the room as powers transferred.

"Amy, stop!" Jake laughed.

"You're right. Why would I want you closer to me?" she teased.
