After that talk, there was comfortable silence with some casual talks in between and this has been going until dusk. He stretched his arms before standing up, letting out a quiet exhale.

"The breeze is nice, right?" he asked, clearly trying to conversate.

"Mhm, it's nice..." you replied, trailing off at the end.

Despite his attempts of trying to have at least a 5 minute talk with you, you only replied with short words, no more than 10. He seemed to notice that. He glanced down at you for a second before returning his gaze back to the horizon.

"Say, do you ever wish to go back home? Not in this world, but yours?"

You shuddered slightly due to the cold breeze that passed by before considering the question he asked.

Surely, there were so many unpleasant things in your world — terrible inconsiderate people, crimes, and many other things that lots would consider immoral — yet there were many memorable things that even you cannot forget in this totally different world. Little things that would make you feel real in the moment, things that would bring an ounce of joy. Eating really good food that was never tried before, trying new games, feeling the world around you, people that do care, even if it doesn't seem so...

That's when you decided.

You nodded quietly and looked up to him, meeting his soft gaze.

"I do."

"Then let's see what we can do."

"There's already something," you muttered before taking something out of your bag, it was a small hourglass. Most of the sand was already on the bottom half and every time you move it, it doesn't immediately pile down.

There was nothing you could do but wait. Wait until you disappear. Albedo stared at the hourglass with sudden interest, his gaze switching between you and the hourglass before making the correlation.

"And you decide to show me this now?"

You couldn't help but respond with a sheepish smile, shrugging a bit and no words were able to escape your lips. He understood and nodded.

"I trust you, I'm sure you had a good reason."

.

After meeting with your 'parents' and bidding farewell, you and Albedo were walking down a trail towards a forest in Liyue.

"So why are we here?" you asked, rubbing your fingers against each other in a nervous manner. The lamps and the blue lit floating things were adding some comfort in the cold night; nonetheless, it was still a little spooky.

"I believe we should spend more time together before it's too late. I figured you would like a quiet walk, unless you don't wish to spend time with me," he responded to your question as he continued walking forwards.

"What? No way, of course I do. So what if the hourglass doesn't send me back? Are you gonna terminate me and attempt to bring me back to life if it doesn't work out?" you joked quietly, trying to keep up with his pace and looking around with little suspicion.

He stopped for a moment before continuing to walk and seemed stunned at the idea, finding it absurd.

"I will not and will never think or do such a thing to you, not even in the name of alchemy. I don't wish to imagine you not being alive anymore," he whispered towards the end with the slightest tremble, yet keeping his cool with a small smirk. "I wouldn't want to be known as the alchemist killer."
